Sparkly Dahlia

Hey there!
We have made it to Wednesday! Super excited, one more day til my weekend begins! Tomorrow I’m getting off work early to go to a concert. Yup, another one! :) This one has SEVEN groups and it’s only $10! SCORE! What a great way to kick of the weekend!
Today I’m bringing you my first Mother’s Day card of the year. Hope you aren’t sick of seeing Delightful Dahlia- I just can’t get enough! This time around I went with shades of pink and then added some sparkly extra fine glitter. In person it looks stunning! Have I told you how I have a love/ hate relationship with glitter? I absolutely love the look and how it completes a card- hate how I always end up with lots of it on my face! LOL
Well it’s time for this girl to head to bed. Thanks for stopping by!
Stamps: Delightful Dahlia, Polka Dot Basics, Background Basics: Retro
Paper: White, Brown Kraft, Dark Chocolate
Ink: Vintage Sepia, Tea Dye Duo

Sweet Congratulations

Hi blog friends!
Yup, I’m posting another card using Melon Berry! :) I don’t know why I waited so long to buy this color! I’m really liking how different it is and the endless color combinations you can use with it. This color combo is a lot more muted and subtle than my usual cards, but I love it!
I recently went to my LSS and bought this amazing satin ribbon. Isn’t it utterly delicious? I don’t own any other ribbons in this width so this is a big change for me. Have you noticed that I’m going outside my “comfort zone” and trying new things? I even broke out a new (to me) stamp for this one! I think she’s a super cute pregnant woman. :)
Thanks to those who left me comments on my last post. I *do* like to post regularly, but I didn’t know if you all like that. I know that I love it when my favorite bloggers post, but I wanted to make sure you all actually like hearing from me.
Thanks for stopping by! Hope you were inspired!

Delightful Dahlia

Sunday greetings!
I just returned from church, which was awesome. I went to the dedication service for a local service and they brought in Matthew West and John K. Jenkins Sr. It was quite a service. Tonight Matthew will be having a concert- yippee! I’ve had the privilege of seeing him in concert twice before and afterwards got to do some pics and talk with him. A great guy who is really down to earth and truly loves the Lord. Super stoked that he came back to Washington!
Today I have a cheery card featuring one of the brand new PTI stamp sets. I just got my order which was FILLED with lots of fun stuff. I bought three colors of felt so I’m going to have to try those out in the near future. :) Have you ever used felt on a card? I’m a little scared but also excited since I’ve seen some cute creations using it. This card screams fresh to me. Love the aqua mist and spring moss together!
I hope you’ve had a great weekend. Love seeing those of you who have done my sketch at the DeNami Design blog. Can’t wait to see more!

Color Cue Challenge- #2

I know, I know, you all are sick of me mentioning how much I love Funky Foliage. However, I really do and I can’t stop saying it! Another reason I probably love it so much is because the owner/ designer is such a great person and I like supporting people like that! When Dawn posted a new Color Cue Challenge on her blog, I just had to play along. (I honestly think I’m Dawn’s biggest fan….I love love love when she does new blog posts!)
For this challenge we were to use White, Teal, Light Yellow and Bright Pink. Well, being the “rebel” that I am, I had to use brown- I didn’t think black ink looked right with this card. If you follow my blog, you know that I love using my scraps of paper and I’ve been known to create cards like this many times. (You can find some here and here and here and here) I just love the way all the different prints and colors look together! For the scalloped rectangle I used some decorative scissors- yup, I did that by hand! I really need to get the Spellbinder dies…..it’d be so much easier and also even! LOL
Since I already posted today, I’m going to keep this short. Be sure to check out my blog tomorrow. I’ll have my card based off of the sketch I designed for the DeNami Design blog!
Thanks for stopping by (again). Have a great rest of the night!
Stamps: Small Solid Circle, Funky Foliage (WPlus9), Dots Background
Paper: White, Lemon Tart, Raspberry Fizz, Bitty Box Basics
Ink: Vintage Sepia, Ocean Tides, Raspberry Fizz, Tea Dye Duo, yellow

Poppy Seed Challenge- #2

Hi there!
It’s a beautiful day in Washington. The sun is shining and the whole weekend is before us. Really looking forward to resting up after my crazy work week. Today I’m spending time with my sister, which will be fun. We’re going to see Bounty Hunter- the movie with Gerard Butler and Jennifer Aniston. It looks like a good one!
Today I have a quick and easy card for Lisa’s Poppy Seed Challenge. This time around we were to use spring moss, buttons and polka dots. Usually it’s not too difficult for me to come up with a card with these elements but this time it was a toughy. My mom is doing a show this weekend so she had to take almost all the markers, a majority of the stamps and all of the scallop paper punches. For some reason my brain froze since I knew I couldn’t use these items. This card isn’t horrible, but it’s definitely not my best work. Hopefully I’ll have time to create another card for this challenge!
In closing I wanted to let you know that I *finally* updated my Items for Sale page- I’d love for you to check it out!
Thanks for stopping by! Hope you were inspired!

St. Patrick’s Day

I know it’s not actually St. Patrick’s Day, but I have another card scheduled for tomorrow so I thought I’d share my SPD card today! If you have seen a picture of me, you know that I am FAR from Irish. ;) Even though I don’t have a speck of Irish in me, I still wanted to create a “green” card. I’m very much a girly girl so it was fun to play with a more neutral color palette.

This week I’ll have two posts with some fun DeNami products. Right now we are having a design team call, so if you’re looking to be part of a DT, this one is a great one! First of all, you get to work with fab products. Secondly, you get to work with me! LOL If you are interested, you can find the details here.

I have lots of things that I want to do this week- one of them being to that video I have been promising! It seems like anytime I get some free time, something comes up. I haven’t forgotten, blog friends! I will get to it eventually!

Stamps: St. Patrick’s Day (Studio G), Background Basics: Tin Types
Paper: White, Brown Kraft, Ripe Avocado, Spring Moss
Ink: Spring Moss, Ripe Avocado, Tea Dye Duo
Other: Marvy 2″ scallop circle punch, green rhinestones, Ripe Avocado grosgrain ribbon, button, twine

Super Exciting

Happy Saturday! I hope you all have some fun plans for the weekend. Today I had an intense training session with my trainer, went to breakfast with my siblings and tonight we’re celebrating my sisters 21st birthday. I’m hoping to get some stamping done before a publication call ends…..lots of fun stuff planned!

Oh, I am so excited about this post. Lots of fun stuff in this one! Today I have a super fun card featuring a new stamp I bought by Memory Box. Isn’t that polka dot trunk cute? I had fun coloring those little birds and the leaves. After I finished the card looked like it need something so I added some “nests”. I have had these burlap bags for a while and never used them. Isn’t it cute?? I thought it was pretty genius. ;)

Okay, so moving on to my super exciting news…..I am going to be published in CARDS magazine! When I got the email I literally screamed. (My little brother even came upstairs to see if I was okay!) As most of you know, being published was one of my goals this year- I didn’t dream it would happen so quickly! The issue will be released in August- can’t wait for you all to see! To me, CARDS is THE magazine to be in. The best of the best are featured there. I feel so incredibly honored and blessed to be a part of it.

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you were inspired!

Baby Birdies

Thank you all so much for your well wishes, words of encouragement and prayers! I know I can always count on my blog friends to cheer me up! Today is much better than yesterday, but I’m still not feeling quite myself. The past few nights I’ve been going to bed before 9. *gasp* That just goes to show you that I really am not myself- oh yes, and I haven’t stamped for four days! Thankfully I have a large slew of cards that you haven’t seen before…..

Today I’m showcasing what might be, in my opinion, the best baby card I have ever made. I love these colors together! I’m using the adorable Tweety Bird Border and Small Solid Button again- I just can’t get enough! I think this card encaptures everything I love: buttons, scallops, dots, pink, aqua and brown. The only thing missing is rhinestones! :)

For those who don’t follow me on Twitter, I want to let you know that I’ll be at the CHA SuperShow in Illinois on July 30 & 31st. I hope to meet lots more of my crafting friends! Are any of you planning on attending? I had so much fun in Anaheim I didn’t need to think twice about attending this one!

That’s all for now. Hope you were inspired!

Welcome Little Carson

Monday greetings!

I hope you all had a good weekend. Did you do anything fun? I went to a fancy dinner/ auction with my sisters at the Four Seasons hotel in Seattle this weekend. Oh my goodness, that hotel was gorgeous and the view was spectacular! I felt like a movie star- they had valet parking, opened the doors for us, took our bags up to our room, filled the ice and pulled down the covers at night! I could get used to being treated like that! :)

Today I have a fun baby card for my friend. Last year I made this card for her newborn daughter. She loved it so much she framed it! There was just a tiny bit of pressure for this card. *wink* I knew I had to customize it- it makes the card so much more special. It’s a little hard to tell in the picture but there are dots on the cream cardstock….I could never leave that much blank cardstock!

On a personal note, these past few weeks I’ve been dealing with some stuff that hasn’t been fun. I have no motivation or urge to do anything. Cardmaking and even going to the gym feels like a chore. I’ve gone through depression throughout my life but that doesn’t make it any easier to handle. Really hoping that this phase goes away soon– it’s lame! If you think of it, I’d love prayers….knowing I have friends out there thinking of me will really help.

Thanks, guys! You know I’m usually pretty cheery so if these past few posts haven’t seemed like that, this is the reason! (I did try to hide it, but I don’t know how successful I was.)

Stamps: Teeny Swiss Dot, Small Solid Circle, Fresh Alphabet, Baby Button Bits, Dots Background

Paper: Cream, Brown Kraft, Dark Chocolate, Aqua Mist

Look Up Day #2

Hi there!

Do you ever buy/ receive a stamp set and you just can’t put it down? That’s totally how it’s been ever since I received Look Up. I can’t stress enough how fun, easy and versatile this set is. Since I showcased the big hot air balloon yesterday, I thought I’d share some of the other beauties included in this set.

For the first card I used the amazing banner stamp. LOVE LOVE LOVE it! When I made this card I squeeled- it’s so fresh and yummy! You may have noticed that I used a sentiment from You’re Dandy. I told ya, it’s easy to mix and match Courtney’s sets!

Here’s a closer peek at the banner. I chose to just stick with the Bitty Box Basics, but you couldn’t totally mix up the patterns to add some variety. The card looked a little flat so I added some pearls- I thought that was a nice touch. ;)
Next up is a card featuring the medium hot air balloon, birds and frame design from Look Up and a sentiment from Key to my Heart. This card was super simple to make, I literally made it in 15 minutes. (I know, shocking for me! I’m notorious for being a slow card maker!)

Well, I hope these cards prompted you to check out the stamp sets. They truly are a whole lot of fun to use. Be sure to visit Courtney’s new website and check out her awesome blinkie!
