Video Tutorial – Appearances

Good morning!

I can now say that I have gone two whole days without a migraine- such a relief! I almost forgot what it was like have a “normal” day and be able to concentrate and work without being in excruciating pain. Thank you again for your well wishes and prayers!

Today I am super excited to be bringing you my first video tutorial. After receiving numerous requests on how I do my “fancy bow”, I decided to do a short & simple video. I had hopes of bringing this to you weeks ago, but I had video camera issues and then major troubles converting the file and editing. Two days ago I finally sat down (with my mom) and we were able to work out the technical problems. I’m hoping that if I decide to do another video, I won’t have so much trouble (or camera nerves!).

In other exciting news, I will be at four shows in the next four months. I have the privilege of traveling with my job and these are the places I’ll be:  -May 16- Puyallup, Washington ::::: Info on this show can be found here. -June 19 & 20- Orlando, Florida ::::: Info on this show can be found here. -July 30 & 31- Rosemont, Illinois ::::: Info on this show can be found here. -August 21 & 22- Colorado Springs, Colorado ::::: Info on this show can be found here. I’ll be helping at the DeNami Design booth for all of these shows- I hope you’ll stop by! Since I am working these shows, I won’t really be able to chat for long….but I hope you will visit the booth and say hello! I’ll be bringing my camera and I hope to take pictures with some of my blog readers/ friends! Well, I hope you enjoyed the tutorial! If you have suggestions for future ones, I’ll mark them in my notebook! No guarantees that it’ll be made, but I’ll do my best. ;) Have a fabulous day, sweet friends!

Floral Thanks

Hello there!

I hope you all had a great weekend. Sadly, I had a pretty miserable one. I have had a migraine for the past 6 days, which has been a pain. I’ve kicked Diet Coke to the curb (again) and am really, really feeling the effects. On top of all this, my body is fighting a bug so I’ve been sleeping a lot. I feel so out of it- a feeling that I absolutely hate. I would so appreciate your prayers and/or thoughts!

For today’s card I brought out the fabulous Woodgrain Silhouettes Additions stamp set. When I bought this set I was really looking forward to using the leaves….little did I realize I would fall in love with the flowers! I’m not exactly sure what kind of flowers these are- does anyone know? I brought out my Copics and of course, some polka dots, scallops and a button. Normally these colors are associated with Valentine’s Day, but I don’t think that’s the only time you can use them! I just love how cheerful and vibrant they are….this is a color combo I’ve been using a ton recently. :)

I hope your week gets off to a great start! This week I’m hoping to get to 200 followers- that’s when I’ll be doing my next giveaway! If you haven’t become a (public) follower, be sure to do so!

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you were inspired.

DT Announcement

Hi, sweet friends!

Wow, you all have SHOWERED me with comments on the last post– love reading them all! Seriously, receiving comments is one of my most favorite things about blogging…I should make a badge with “will blog for comments” on it. :)

Today I am super excited to be sharing some news with you. I am a part of the Practicing Creativity design team! You know that I’m a huge fan of Courtney’s work and I couldn’t help but apply when her design team call went out. I’m not going to lie, I did a happy dance when I received the email that I got accepted. I’m so excited to get to work with Courtney and also Dana and Alice. These next three months are going to be so much fun!

I couldn’t resist creating a card using a couple of Courtney’s sets- had to show you how fun they are! :) For this one I used Key to my Heart and Look Up. I simply adore how you can create your own argyle pattern- so chic! You may remember me doing it here and here and here.

Thanks to those of you who have encouraged me in my card making journey- your sweet compliments have helped me pursue my dreams and pushed me to try new things! One being trying out for design teams! :) You all are fabulous…..

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you were inspired!

Elegant Leaves

Greetings!

I hope your Monday is going well. Today I was super busy at work- my day flew by so quickly! Now I’m in my comfy pj pants and I’m about to work on a few crafty projects. :)

Today I have yet another card with the fabulous Woodgrain Silhouettes stamp sets by WPlus9. Since I’ve been super busy creating design team cards and then cards for the CHA display, I haven’t had too much time to create “just because” cards. However, I had to take a break from my “to-do list cards” and thought I’d play for a little bit. :) I so love these leaves- they make the perfect background paper! I’m bummed that the card didn’t scan very well….the woodgrain circle is washed out because of the glitter. In person, this card really stunning, if I do say so myself. :)

Okay, readers, now I’m thinking it’s blog candy time soon. Thing is, I don’t know what I want to give away. So….are there any things that you have on your wish list? I’d really love to hear your thoughts and suggestions!

Have a fantabulous night, dear friends!

Stamps: Woodgrain Silhouettes (WPlus), Woodgrain Silhouettes Additions (WPlus9)
Paper: White, Aqua Mist, Smokey Shadow
Ink: Vintage Sepia, Hawaiian Shores, Fresh Snow, Tea Dye Duo

Other: Gray grosgrain ribbon, SU! scallop border punch, Marvy 2″ scallop circle punch, Quickie Glue Pen, Extra Fine glitter

Congratulations Plane

Hi there!

I hope you’re have a fabulous Sunday afternoon! This morning I went to church, went to the gym and now I’m tidying the house up before I take my weekly Sunday nap. :) Seriously this nap is a must for my week. There have been a few times where I was too busy to take one and my week felt like it was painfully slow and my body just wanted to crash. Now I purposely try to leave a couple hours of my Sundays empty so I can rest up for the week.

Today I have a card that is pretty different for me, but I love it. I wasn’t planning on buying this airplane set in the latest Papertrey release, but I just couldn’t help myself. I honestly wanted it so I could play with my Copics some more! I’m so glad I got it- it’s so fun to stamp and it’s perfect for little boy cards!

Well, I must go. Got a custom order for a Mother’s Day card and need to list it. Do YOU need a card? If you do, send me an email!

Stamps: Small Solid Circle, Fly Away, Dots Background
Paper: White, Spring Rain, Smokey Shadow
Ink: Smoky Grey, Spring Rain
Other: Spellbinders Label Four dies, paper piercer, Gray grosgrain ribbon, Copics, clear rhinestone

April Ramblings

Since my March Ramblings were a hit, I decided that I would do it every month. Just another warning, this is very random and you may regret wasting time reading this.

  • This month I have created well over 60 cards/ projects. Yes, it is insane and yes, I am almost out of new ideas.
  • Two weeks ago I bought my first Copics and somehow I have already accumulated 30+.
  • Do not have any pants that truly fit me. All of them are too big but I don’t want to spend more money on clothes because I’m hoping to loose more weight.
  • I have hit a weight plateau and don’t like it. Guessing it doesn’t help that I have taken to drinking Diet Coke again.
  • I discovered I may be directionally challenged.
  • The past few months have been amazing in my crafting endeavors. I was featured on the CARDS blog, got a card picked up for the August issue of CARDS and was featured on the WPlus9 website. Hoping I can accomplish even bigger things in the months to come!
  • Taco Time is my favorite “fast food” place. I could eat it everyday, no joke.
  • Got my first speeding ticket this month. Still kicking myself for it.
  • Realized that everyone in my old “group” has gotten engaged or married, except me. Not exactly sure how I feel about this.
  • Seriously have loved answering questions on my formspring account. I still can’t believe that people want to know about lil ‘ol me!

Okay, now I’d love to see YOUR random list. If you post one, be sure to leave me a comment so I can check it out! One of my readers did it last month and it was SO fun to read! I hope more of you do it. *hint hint*

Bo Bunny Hello

Hi there!

As most of you know, I’m a huge rubber stamper….not much for cardmaking or scrapbooking. Because I like to create my own patterned papers, I don’t usually buy pre-printed papers at scrapbook stores. Okay, there are a few exceptions. A few months back I bought some adorable deer paper but have no idea how I’m going to use it. I just like to look at it. :)
While I was at ScrapVille the other day (see my review here), I just had to pick up some of the BoBunny Love Bandit papers. They were so flippin’ adorable, I just couldn’t resist! I just love the sweet colors and the cute animals! The pretty scallop shape and the cute patterned paper were from the 12 x 12 cut outs page. One thing I don’t like about this paper, everything about it is adorable and I just about died when I had to cut my shape and couldn’t use the other side of the paper. Guess I’ll have to buy a couple more sheets. ;)
I hope your Monday goes well! Lots of work to be done, so I better run. Thanks for stopping by. Hope you were inspired!
Stamps: Small Solid Button, Truly Appreciated (Hero Arts)
Paper: Smokey Shadow, Bo Bunny Love Bandit
Ink: Smoky Grey

Color Cue Challenge #3

Friday greetings!

Today I have lots of exciting things planned- so excited to start off my day! Have lots of cleaning that needs to be done…but then the fun begins! I get to finally meet a Twitter/ blog friend today. I have loved getting to know this girlie and I’m so stoked that we get to meet! We’ll be meeting at a brand new scrapbook store! Yippee! Of course, I’m going to be mixing in a tad bit of business while I’m there- hoping this store will start carrying some DeNami products. :) After all of this, I’m going to a hot pot party. Now, I don’t know exactly how it works….I just know that my friends will be there and I’m told there will be lots of food!
I know that I mentioned I was having lack of creativity. Now, honestly, I wasn’t lying! I sat in my studio for two hours trying to come up with the last card. It was such a simple card- I can’t believe it took that long! Last night when I saw Dawn’s Color Cue Challenge and just *had* to try my hand at creating something. These are definitely not my “go-to” colors but I had to give it a shot. ;) Can I just say that I love Dawn’s stamps even more now that I have my Copics? So much fun to color and shade!
In closing, I want you all to know that I filmed my first tutorial. Don’t get too excited, it’s not that great. Last night I tried editing and that was a complete disaster. I’m using my mom’s video camera so I’m still learning the ins and outs of it. Next step: finding the disk the camera came with so I make it a file my computer can read! Eventually I will get it up. ;)
Have a great rest of the day, girlies! Hope this card inspired you!

Stamps: Woodgrain Silhouettes Additions (WPlus9), Funky Foliage (WPlus9), Polka Dot Basics

Paper: White, Summer Sunrise, Smokey Shadow

Lost Creativity

Hi there!

It’s been a few days since I posted but it feels like a week! I have to admit, I feel guilty when I don’t post….I think there is something wrong with me. I know there are blogs that I visit daily where I’m super disappointed when they haven’t posted for a few days. (Yes, I know I must try to have a life.) I don’t know if anyone visits me that frequently- if you do, I’m so sorry I haven’t posted!
These past few days I have been majorly lacking creativity. Since I made 40+ cards in two weeks (in addition to working), I have been semi burnt out and my creativity has officially flown the coup. I hate when this happens! I really need some creativity again- there are lots more projects that need to be created! I have a sneaking suspicion July will be here in the blink of an eye, and I really am hoping to be on top of my game and have everything finished by then.
This card is my attempt at trying to create something new. I am so in love with Dawn’s new sets, but I just can’t seem to do them justice! I had a million ideas when I saw the previews and now they have dissipated into thin air. :( I think I may be in need of some time away from stamps, ribbons and buttons. *gasp*
Thanks for stopping by! Hey, if you do visit me often, I’d love for you to leave a comment. :) I still go through days when I wonder if anyone reads my blog…..

2 Sketches 4 You- Kazan’s Sketch #50

Hey there, girlies!
I’m so excited, I got my new WPlus9 stamp sets!!! I bought the Woodgrain Silhouettes bundle– couldn’t pass up the savings and also all those gorgeous designs! Everytime I get one of Dawn’s new sets, I always seem to have a million card ideas floating in my mind. However, I set them all aside because I really wanted to play along with Kazan’s Sketch! :)
This particular card is very simple in design- I took the sketch very literally (a rare occurrence). I decided to go with the light pink, cream and kraft color combo- it’s so soft and perfect for a Mother’s Day card! After I stamped my background in light pink and white I felt like it was still lacking something. After playing around for a little bit, I decided that it needed glitter….lots and lots of glitter. I used my Essential Glue Pad and went to town. Love the end result!
Thanks for stopping by! Hope you were inspired!
