Overwhelmed

Hello and welcome!

If you read my blog title today, you can get a tiny glimpse as to how I’m feeling right now. I am making huge progress, but there is still so much more to be done. Last night, for the first time in quite a while, I created a card just for fun. I needed a break of “must do” cards and had fun with this one. I went to one of my favorite color combos- kraft, dark chocolate, aqua mist and ripe avocado. Super yummy!

Did you noticed the new Spellbinder die I used on the card? That’s one of the FOUR that I got two weeks ago. Yup, I couldn’t resist and splurged on some that I had been eyeing for quite some time. You’ll be seeing them in cards coming up. :)

Do you have any fun plans for Memorial Day weekend? Today we are going to brunch with the family- yay for breakfast foods! Not a whole lot of other things going on….just lots more card creating. Amazingly enough, even after the massive amount of cards I’ve been creating, it’s still enjoyable. Probably helps that I’ve been watching some tv series while creating. :)

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog! Hope you were inspired!

Pastel Umbrella

Hello, sweet friends!

Things have been crazy busy for me lately. In between work, going to the gym and spending time with family, I’ve been creating cards non-stop for the DeNami CHA display. Things are progressing, but there is still so much more to be done. I’ve been seeing CHA SuperShow countdowns on blogs- I’m happy that people are so excited about it! However, it also scares me since the days are going by super quickly. Really hoping that I can still create cards and update the blog….these days, any “free time” that I have has been spent in the studio.

Today I have a pretty pastel card to share. You all know that I love umbrellas, right? This past season I successfully convinced Nami to create a few umbrellas. LOVE LOVE LOVE how they turned out. The Large Open Umbrella is perfect for paper piecing and also coloring. To create my own patterned paper, I used the Small Solid Button and Small Solid Umbrella. Two great stamps- a must for any stamp collection.

Thanks to all who left sweet comments on my May Ramblings post. I must admit, I had been quite discouraged that my readership has fallen by a lot. I so appreciate those who have continued to visit and have also left comments. :)

I hope you have a great Thursday! Thanks for stopping by my blog- hope you were inspired!

Paper: White, Brown Kraft, Sweet Blush, Dark Chocolate, Bitty Dots Basics
Ink: Vintage Sepia, Sweet Blush, Tea Dye Duo

May Ramblings

It’s time for my May Ramblings! These postings have become really popular- it amazes me that you all like to hear me ramble. If you were to ask any of my friends, they would tell you that I really can ramble. :) Thank goodness I keep them fairly short for you all. *wink*

  • I recently started filming video tutorials. I only post them because I have received so many requests. Really hate the sound of my voice- glad you guys seems to like it!
  • This month is the worst I have eaten in the months. It seems like I can’t get enough chocolate and ice cream these days. My trainer is going to kill me when I see him next.
  • Realized I have not gotten a haircut in 10 months. Yes, my hair is incredibly long. Need to stop spending money on crafty things and get a haircut/ color.
  • Really, really miss my acrylic nails.
  • I think I’m finally over my Diet Coke withdrawals. Seriously miss caffeine sometimes, but I’m doing my very best to stay away from all of it.
  • Watched The Biggest Loser for a whole season this year. I love this show!
  • Have I mentioned that I’m a reality tv junkie? Yeah, I really love seeing other people’s drama. However I try to stay out of it IRL.
  • I am allergic to cats & dogs.
  • The Cheesecake Factory is my favorite restaurant. Their Luau salad is to die for yummy.
  • Creeps me out when old guys stare at me. Extra creepy when they compliment you and look at your in a gross way.
  • Took my first class at the gym last week. Kickboxing Cardio kicked my butt. However I’m planning on going again today.
  • My blog viewings have gone down….a LOT. :(

It makes me so happy to see SO many of my blog friends starting to do these posts- they are so fun to read! You can check out my friends posts here:

Chickie Girls

Hello, sweet blog friends!

Can you believe it’s already Monday? This weekend was packed full of activities- most of them fun. On Saturday I went to a grad party and then a small get together with friends. I ended up staying out until almost 1 AM- a super rare occasion for me. It was so fun to take a break from cardmaking and spend time with some special friends. Did you all have a good weekend?

Today I have a sweet and fun card to share. This card features some of the popular chickie stamps by DeNami Design. At the moment I have about 12 brand new cards featuring chickies in my stamp studio. Whenever I look at them I can’t help but smile. :) Inside scoop: there are lots more chickies coming in the new Fall/ Winter 2010 collection. We just finalized everything- I can’t wait to share some of the sneak peeks!

In closing, I just want to mention that I have an interview on the DeNami Design blog! Lots of fun questions were asked….I’d love for you to stop check it out. :)

I hope you have a great Monday! Thanks so much for stopping by my blog- hope you were inspired!

Vibrant Graduation

Hello!

Today I am sharing the card that I made for my dear friend. I have known Kalyn ever since I was born- a whopping 22 years and counting. Our families have been through a lot together over the years. This girlie is truly like a sister to me- I can tell her anything. Even though I tried many times to convince her to stay in Washington, she went off to college. Four years later, she has graduated and I couldn’t be more proud of her.

With my friend graduating, I sometimes wonder if I should have gone to college. Granted, I have always thought that going just to go was a waste of time and money. It works for some people, just not for me. However I do ponder if my life would be different had I gone to college. Would I have found other interests or a different career path? Would I have met my “prince charming”? After daydreaming, I realize that I truly do love my life. I have a job that I really do love (and I’m the boss!). I also love the fact that I have time to pursue my crafting AND it’s part of my job. Sometimes it’s stressful (like now), but usually it’s every crafters dream. Do you ever have those “what-if” questions? If so, what are they?

I hope that this card inspired you! It was so much fun to create this card- definitely a design I’ll be going back to again!

Have a fabulous Saturday!!

Stamps: Polka Dot Basics, For the Graduate
Paper: White, Dark Chocolate, Raspberry Fizz, Summer Sunrise

Tweety Birds

Hello, sweet blog friends!

It’s been a while since I thanked those who have left comments recently. I want you to know that I DO read them and I greatly treasure each and every one of them. Knowing you took the time to say a nice word is so encouraging to me. Lately I have been receiving quite a few more comments than normal- I am SO lovin’ it! Hoping it continues. *wink*

Today I have a card that I made several months ago. While trying to “clean” up some of my studio I stumbled across this card. I really love this color combination- I think I’ll need to play with it again! You probably noticed I used the Tweety Bird Border again. I seriously love this stamp to pieces!!

I am in the process of editing a video for a card that I’ll show in June. Yup, you really do have to wait that long. However, I’m planning on doing another video on a card from start to finish in the near future. Is there a specific card you’d like to see a video on? If so, be sure to leave a comment and if possible, leave the link of the card. Looking forward to hearing your suggestions!

I’ll be back tomorrow with a fun graduation card- you won’t want to miss it!

Birdie Thanks

Hello, sweet blog friends!

The past few days have been amazingly gorgeous here in Washington. It’s been in the 70’s and the sunshine has been glorious. I have been lovin’ wearing my flipflops, capris and tanks recently…..so abnormal for May! Hoping this weather continues- I love it so much.

For today’s card I paired up my top four stamp companies: DeNami Design, WPlus9, Practicing Creativity and Papertrey. I was so pleased I was able to combine them all in this card! I made this card a few weeks back hoping to see this weather sometime soon. Isn’t that funny? I so wish that IRL birds had polka dots and were these fun colors. :)

Today I am helping at the Puyallup stamp show from 10-5. I hope to see lots of my Washingtonian blog friends there! You can find all the details here. I was able to look around today- I saw lots of Spellbinder dies and Copics that I want! I may “splurge” and buy a few that have been on my waiting list….we’ll see how long I can resist….

I have two reminders for you today…

2) Today is the last day to play along in the DeNami Color Challenge! There is a $30 DeNami gift certificate up for grabs….you won’t want to miss out!

Happy Mother’s Day

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms who read my blog! I hope that your day is filled with much happiness and wonderful blessings!

Today I want to dedicate this post to my mom. Since we all know I’m really into lists these days, I thought I’d list just a few of her wonderful characteristics.

Supportive of my crafty endeavors and all of our dreams.
Patient with all of her children (and husband). Did you know there are FIVE of us kids?
Resourceful in so many ways. I really need to apply this to my life.
-Amazingly talented. I’m am still in awe of her designs. Everytime she creates a new collection, it’s better than the one before! I wish I got some of her drawing skills…..
-A great listener. She’s there when I need someone to talk to, even if she’s thousands of miles away. I can always count on her to listen and also give wise advice.
Loving me no matter what. Goodness knows I have made a lot of mistakes and this hasn’t been easy to do over the years.

I could go on and on, but I think I’ll stop there. Mom, I love you so very much! Thank you for all that you do for me and the rest of the family!

I hope this post inspired you! Thanks for stopping by!

Wonderfully Whimsical

Yippee, it’s Friday! Today is the start of my weekend and I have lots planned. I’m thrilled that I get to sleep in, gets crafty projects done, go to a training session with my PT and then see Iron Man 2 with my dad! I don’t get to spend too much time with my dad, so I’m excited for this “dad- daughter date”.

Okay, moving onto the card….I brought out two new stamp sets for this one. I just received my newly released Design Basics: Background 1 from WPlus9 and had to play with it right away. This set is so versatile and super fun! A while back I bought the Wonderfully Whimsical but never got around to using it. I thought these two sets would go together well, wonderfully. I wasn’t planning on using Christmas-type colors, but it ended up that way. Just goes to show you that I really don’t plan my cards- I totally go with my creative flow.

Thanks to those who left a comment on my Fancy Bow Tutorial post. I can’t wait to see your cards featuring this technique! When you create one, be sure to let me know so I can check it out! Also, if you have any requests for future tutorials, be sure to pass them along.

If you haven’t already, be sure to sign up for my $50 gift certificate giveaway!

Thanks for stopping by- I hope I inspired you. Have a super fabulous day!
