Embellish Snowflakes Color Challenge

Happy Friday, dear friends!

How are you all doing? Today I went to my Christmas lunch for work- that always seems to kick of the holiday season for me. After eating way too much, I hit the gym and then got around to making a few cards. What a perfect way to spend a Friday!

Tonight I have a card made for the Embellish Snowflakes Color Challenge. I thought this one was going to be a piece of cake….boy, was I wrong! I think it’s that creative slump getting to me. {That’s my excuse and I’m sticking by it!} I decided to go outside the regular card and make a pocket card. Isn’t it fun?? I can see sticking a gift card to the bottom of the removable panel- wouldn’t that be a great surprise? Hmmm….I think I’ll play with that idea….

How are your Christmas preparations going? Has the weather changed where you are at? I am *finally* starting to get Christmas presents together. I am finished with one brother, now onto the other five members of the family! {Oh yes, and ALL of my friends. Good grief, I’m now even close to being finished!} As far as the weather in Washington- it’s been freezing! There has been ice in some areas, and some snow in others. For those of you who don’t know, my stamp area is in my garage. Boy is it stinkin’ cold in there! I have a heater, but it really isn’t cutting it anymore. I was planning on making a couple more cards tonight but I just couldn’t stand the cold any longer. :(

As always, I would love to hear from you! Hope you have a great weekend!

Raspberry Color Challenge #20

Greetings friends!

I have been such a bad blogger lately-I’m so sorry! I’ve been busy with design team cards and am feeling like I’m in a creative slump. I’m thinking it may be time to take a little break from stamping…..

Tonight I have a card that I created for the Raspberry Suite Color Challenge. When I saw the colors I just about laughed out loud. In the past two weeks, I have made three projects using these exact colors! Isn’t that funny?! Dawn and I must be in a similar mindset. {Okay, I wish…that girlie is SO creative!} This card is on the simple side- like I said before, I’m in a creative slump. :)

On a different note, I have listed quite a few of my craft fair “leftovers” in my Etsy shop. You girls are so incredible- thank you for your recent purchases! It’s been so exciting and also encouraging to see some movement in my little ‘ol Etsy shop. Sadly, that is yet another thing that has been neglected…..however, I think I’m starting to get motivated again….keep on checking back for new items!

Thanks so much for stopping by. Even though I haven’t been very active on the blog, you all are still in my thoughts! Here’s to hoping that I’ll get a little more motivation while I face these horrid “Winter blues”.

Stamps: Turning A New Leaf, Signature Greetings
Paper: Cream, Brown Kraft, Dark Chocolate, Terracota Tile, Bitty Box Basics
Ink: Vintage Sepia, Habanero

24 Days ’til Christmas

Happy December 1st, my dear friends!

I cannot believe how FAST this year has flown. Doesn’t it seem like we were just ringing in 2009?? If life is flashing before my eyes now, I can only imagine what it’ll be like when I’m in my 30’s and 40’s!

Today I am sharing my absolute favorite Christmas card that I have made this year. I love how this one turned out. {I made it two months ago and still love it!} I am so enjoying the pleated ribbon look these days….going to have to do that some more when I start making cards again.

I’m in the home stretch of the craft fair {3 more days}! I’m sure you all will be happy not to hear about it anymore. ;) Yesterday I got my order of 60 more white post it notes….gonna be busy making the covers! I stayed up entirely too late working on more products and also painting a display. For those of you who know me, I am SO not a handy-type girl, so painting was not fun at all. However, if I didn’t paint this display, it would have bugged me the entire time I was at the craft fair…..

Before I close, I just want to remind you all that there are only TWO days left to enter the DeNami Design gift certificate giveaway I’m having. Be sure enter!

Well, that’s a wrap for now. Hope you all have a fantastic day!

Stamps: Signature Christmas, Vintage Labels, Small Solid Circle
Paper: Brown Kraft, Cream, Dark Chocolate, Spring Moss, Pure Poppy
Ink: Vintage Sepia, Satin Red
Other: Brown grosgrain ribbon, decorative pearls, SU! scallop border punch, Martha Stewart scallop edge punch

Papertrey November Blog Hop

Oh goodness, can you believe it’s the 25th already?! I was busily going about my day yesterday when I realized I only had a couple hours to work on my PTI Blog Hop project! {I work so I can’t create at all hours of the day. Jealous of those of you who can!}

This months challenge was über fun. With the holidays around the corner, who doesn’t need a fun gift tag?! I actually made two tags but decided to post the more “traditional” Christmas one. Since I’ve been doing a TON of non-traditional Christmas color combos, I thought I’d post something different than the norm. I L-O-V-E how this tag turned out- I think I’ll need to make more! There are just some days when I’m totally surprised with what I make….yesterday was one of those days! :)

Well I can’t wait to see what all of you lovely peeps created. You all are so inspiring! Thanks so much for stopping by.

Raspberry Color Challenge #19

Happy Wednesday!

Can you believe that Thanksgiving is tomorrow, and Christmas is exactly one month away?! Thank goodness I don’t have to do much for the festivities tomorrow- I don’t enjoy cooking one bit! This year we are doing something new, we’re going to my aunts house for Thanksgiving. We ALWAYS host it at our house, so this will be a big deal for the family. LOL What is your favorite dish at Thanksgiving dinner? I’m a big fan of the stuffing- can’t get enough! :)

Here’s my card for the Raspberry Suite Color Challenge. I have to admit, I’m not a huge fan of the card. I really wanted to give this color combo another try, but I just won’t have enough time before the deadline. Be sure to let me know your thoughts on this card– don’t worry, it won’t offend me since I don’t care for it too much! ;) Having to consciously use FIVE colors on a card is hard! Did anyone else struggle with this one?

I’ll have another post tonight- can’t miss out on the PTI blog hop!

Hope you have a fabulous morning….I’ll see you again soon!

**I have yet another giveaway posted. What can I say, it’s a time for giving. :)

EBTKS First Sketch Challenge

Greeting from sunny California!

Yes, I have made it to my vacation destination safely. What a glorious sight to wake up to gorgeous blue sky and sunshine! Last night I had the worst night trying to get to sleep. I guess I’m used to the cold…I was so stuffy in the room! It also didn’t help that the bed isn’t very comfortable. :( Since my last trip had the most comfortable bed ever, I was hoping this one would be too! Alas, I’m going to have to figure out how to sleep on an uncomfortable bed.

Today I have a card that uses my new BasicGrey Eskimo Kisses paper. Oh my goodness, isn’t it the cutest thing ever?! I absolutely love the little reindeer, and that plaid is just plain yummy! I bought the 6 x 6 mini paper pack….you’ll be seeing me use it again! This card was so fun to make- it also only uses two stamps! In case you haven’t heard, Everything but the Kitchen Sink {EBTKS}has started doing sketches! This one is super easy….no excuses not to give it a try! Also, they have a $25 gift certificate to 2Peas! How fun is that?!

I hope you enjoyed the card. Before I left, I really wanted to get a couple challenge cards made- so glad I did! Tomorrow I’ll have a new post it note cover that I made! It’s one of my favorites….be sure to come back! :)

2 Sketches 4 You- Laura’s Sketch #39

Happy Tuesday my dear blog friends!

Oh goodness, can you tell that I’m super happy today? In just a few short hours I will be on a jet plane to beautiful, sunny California. {At least I’m hoping it’s sunny!} With it being SO gloomy, wet and depressing in Washington, I’m ready for a change of scenery and also some much needed R & R.

You all may think I’m a little silly, but I just HAD to make a few challenge cards before I left. Seriously, with such a stunning sketch by Laura, how could I not partake?! Did you see the amazing card that my friend, Sarah, made? It was absolutely breathtaking! I am so happy she made the 2S4Y DT- she is such a sweetie and her cards just keep getting better and better.

Right now I am so loving this color combo- isn’t it scrumptious? Even though we are heading into Winter, I really couldn’t help but play with these colors. Since today I was super down {because of the weather}, I needed a fun, spring-like card to cheer me up. :) I’m hoping this card can cheer up another person as well….there are so many people that I miss at the moment…who should I send this to??

Hope you all have a great day! Thanks for stopping by!

Embellish Brads Color Challenge

Hello friends!

Today I have a card that I made while Ginny was over for our crafting day. Yes, we made a day of it. 11 fabulous hours of crafting, laughing, food and movies….the perfect way to spend a Friday!{I went crazy on the food: pizza, M & M’s, Diet Coke. Thank goodness I have a training session today!}

This week for the Embellish challenge, we were required to use red, blue, green, yellow and brads! Oh goodness, you all know this is WAY past my comfort zone. Thankfully it wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be. I had some Making Memories brads, which were a lifesaver. If I didn’t have them, I couldn’t have participated in this challenge! Yes, I only have one pack of brads. I have NEVER used brads on a project before!

I hope some of you are able to participate in this challenge– I would love to see your creations! I always love seeing others creations on the challenges that I participate in- there are so many different styles!

Have a terrific Saturday! Thanks in advance for the comments! ;)

Stamps: Small Solid Circle, Everyday Button Bits
Paper: White, Red, Lemon Tart
Ink: Vintage Sepia, Satin Red
Other: New Leaf grosgrain, twine, Making Memories brads, assorted buttons, Fiskars border punch

Elegant Seasons Greetings

Happy Monday to my blog friends!

Today I have another Christmas card to share. Are you sick of them yet? I hope not! Got lots more of them to share. :) With this card, I decided to go the “traditional” route and use the standard green and red with a splash of other warm colors. I love how this card turned out- it’s elegant, whimsical and classy! Oh yes, and I’m SO happy that the bow turned out nice in this scanned photo….not an easy task!

I have a question for you all: which card should I give to my friends this year for Christmas? I have made so many and I love {almost} all of them. It’s such a hard decision! I value your input- can you offer some help?

Since I talked your ear off in the last post, I’ll make this one short. Have a fabulous Monday!

Stamps: Signature Christmas, Vintage Labels, Basic Backgrounds: Retro, Dots Background
Paper: Brown Kraft, Cream, Ripe Avocado, Dark Chocolate
Ink: Vintage Sepia
