Peekaboo Mouse

Hi friends! Christina here to share a cute and cozy fall card with you. I created a chilly autumn scene using the new darling Mouse Holder and have him popping out of a big pumpkin. Falling leaves swirling around the scene and a muted blue sky round out the scene. Let’s get started!

Mouse Holder Dies
Pumpkin Face Shaker Dies
Fall Holder Additions Dies
– leaves & acorn
Argyle Pierced Plate
Halloween Banner Greetings
Banner Greetings 2 Dies
Penguin Mugs Dies
– scarf
Onyx Pearls

My first step was to create the background panel. I kept things simple for the background because the mouse and the pumpkin are pretty big. I started with a piece of light blue cardstock trimmed to 4.25 x 5.5 inches and blended in a slightly darker, muted blue around the edges and a medium brown at the bottom of the panel. I also brought some of the brown up around the blue too. Then I die-cut the panel using the Argyle Pierced Plate and finally splattered it with a white splatter medium before attaching it to a top-fold card base.

My next step was to die-cut all the remaining elements for my scene. I started with colored cardstock for my die-cuts and added shading to each piece with a darker coordinating ink color before assembling them. For the pumpkin, I die-cut the top with just a basic circle die so I could pop the mouse inside and also used it to create the backer piece of the pumpkin. I chose an acorn from the many cute things in the Fall Holder Additions set for the mouse to hold and used Onyx Pearls for his eyes.

Finally, I assembled my scene on the background panel, popping the mouse inside the pumpkin and adding swirling autumn leaves and an additional acorn to the scene. My final step was to heat emboss a sentiment with cream embossing powder on a wavy banner and attach it across the pumpkin.

Thanks so much for reading about this cute and cozy fall scene card featuring the new Mouse Holder from the latest release. Happy crafting!
