Fall Mouse Scene
Hello Crafty Friends! Catherine here, and today I’m sharing a fun fall card featuring the adorable Mouse Holder, Fall Bucket Additions, and Fall Holder Additions from Pretty Pink Posh’s latest release! This little mouse is just too cute, and I decided to dress him up as a sweet scarecrow using accessories from the Fall Bucket Additions set.
To begin, I created a soft, cloudy background on an A2-sized piece of white cardstock using the Clouds Stencil. cardstock. I then added a decorative border by die cutting the panel with the largest die from the Stitched Torn Rectangles set.
Next, I die cut the mouse and all the coordinating pieces from white cardstock. I added color with Distress Oxides using the following combinations:
Body– Hickory Smoke
Inner Ears and Tummy– Tattered Rose
Eyes and Mouth– Black Soot
Nose– Kitsch Flamingo
Cheeks– Spun Sugar
For the scarecrow look, I die cut the hat and hair from the Fall Buckets Additions set. I created a fun plaid pattern on the hat using the Windowpane Plaid Stencils and Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide. I added hand a coordinating hat band and ink blended it with the same color.
For extra detail, I used the mouth stitching die from the Fall Bucket Additions set to create the stitched accent on the hat. I lightly ink blended the stitches with Gathered Twigs Distress Oxide and colored the straw like hair with Tea Dye and Scattered Straw.
To create the bucket, I first ran a piece of white cardstock through my die cut machine with the Checkered Pierced Plate Die for texture. I then die cut the bucket and handle from the Candy Bucket set and ink blended both pieces with Scattered Straw and Antique Linen Distress Oxides.
Next came the fun fall embellishments! I die cut leaves and pumpkins from the Fall Holder Additions and Fall Bucket Additions Die sets and ink blended them with the following Distress Oxide combinations:
Turquoise– Salvaged Patina, Weathered Wood
Orange– Carved Pumpkin, Dried Marigold, Gathered Twigs
Red– Candied Apple, Ripe Persimmon
Green– Bundled Sage, Peeled Paint
I splattered the turquoise and orange pumpkins with coordinating watercolors diluted with water for a little extra texture and interest.
For the bottom of the scene, I die cut the grass from white cardstock using the Grass Border Die. I a few splatters of blue watercolor before adhering all the elements onto the cloudy background.
For the sentiment, I die cut the word “FALL” from the Fall Bucket Additions set and ink blended them with Ripe Persimmon and Dried Marigold. I paired it with a red stamped “Greetings: to create the finished sentiment. To complete the card, I added a crisp white border along with a few clear enamel dots.
