Rustic Scarecrow Bucket
Hello! Christina here to share another autumn-inspired card featuring products from the latest release. I used the new Fall Bucket Additions to create this adorable scarecrow bucket and filled it with a bounty of fall leaves and apples. The background is a new stencil called Wheat Pattern that I just can’t get enough of. It’s the perfect backdrop to any fall card.

Let’s start with the background. As I mentioned above, I used the new Wheat Pattern stencil for this card. I chose artichoke green ink and stenciled the pattern onto an ivory cardstock panel that I die-cut using the largest Stitched Torn Rectangles. Then I added distressing to the panel by lightly blending brown ink around the edges and spattering it with a Mica Stain for a little sparkle. Finally, I mounted this onto an artichoke green cardstock panel trimmed to 4.25 x 5.5 inches and attached it to a top-fold card base.
Next, I die-cut all the elements to build the scarecrow bucket and the leaves and apples to fill it. I used a wood-grain-patterned paper for the actual bucket pieces and added shading before assembling it. To dress up the bucket for fall, I chose the scarecrow, but there are a few different options in the set, including an adorable Thanksgiving turkey. I added pink cheeks to his face and used a plaid-patterned paper for his hat. I assembled all the bucket pieces and attached them to my background panel using foam squares. This left plenty of room to tuck in an abundant amount of fall leaves and apples. I chose traditional fall colors for these elements and added shading to the pieces before assembling and attaching them.
My last steps included adding a sentiment and a few white gel pen highlights. I stamped and heat-embossed my sentiment with cream embossing powder on kraft cardstock, then I used the coordinate die for the ‘thankful’ word and a small sentiment strip for the rest of the sentiment. I added highlights to the apples and his eyes to finish up my card design.
