Chick Easter Treat Holders

Hello Crafty Friends! Catherine here and I’m sharing these mini Easter treat holder cards created with the Chick Holder and Springtime Holder Additions die sets. These little treat holders are super sweet and perfect for gifting small Easter treats!

To start, I die cut two white scalloped rectangles using the second largest rectangle in the Eyelet Rectangles set

Next, I created the background by ink blending a checker pattern using the Mini Checker Stencil and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide on white cardstock. I trimmed the panel to fit the Eyelet rectangles and adhered it in place.

For the chick holders, I die cut four chick holders from white cardstock- two for the front layers and two for the back layers. I then die cut two circle openings in the center of two chicks using a 1 1/2″ circle die. The front chick layers were ink blended with Mustard Seed and Scattered Straw Distress Oxides. I also ink blended two white circle pieces with Mustard Seed and adhered them onto the bottom chick layers.

I die cut the eyes and beaks and ink blended with Black Soot and Carved Pumpkin and Dried Marigold Distress Oxides. For the cheeks, I borrowed them from the Bear Holder set and ink blended with Spun Sugar, then adhered all the facial features onto the chicks.

Next, I placed some mini candies into the center of the bottom chick layers and sealed them with a plastic craft dome.

The chick fronts were adhered over the domes. I added rims by die cutting a 1 1/2″ circle with a 1 1/4″ circle inlay, then ink blended them with Mustard Seed and Scattered Straw.

I die cut the umbrella from Springtime Holder Additions and ink blended using the following Distress Oxides:

Umbrella Shaft– Hickory Smoke
Umbrella Panels– Salty Ocean, Tumbled Glass, Wilted Violet, Shaded Lilac, Carved Pumpkin, Dried Marigold
Cap– Spun Sugar

I decorated the umbrella with flowers and greenery from Stitched Spring Flowers. The flowers were ink blended with Scattered Straw, Tumbled Glass, Spun Sugar, Kitsch Flamingo, while the greenery was ink blended with Mowed Lawn. I added pink enamel dots to the center of the pink flowers for added dimension.

To finish the card, I added the sentiment “Joyful Easter Wishes” from Easter Banner Greetings and Banner Greetings 3, layered on vellum.

Thank you so much for joining me today! I hope you enjoyed my mini Easter treat holders and found some inspiration for your own Easter crafting!
