Valentine Theme Week- Day 7
Hi friends, Jeanne here. I hope you’re enjoying Valentine’s Theme Week! There are so many fabulous Valentine products in the store the hardest part is choosing what to take home! I’m a HUGE fan of die cuts! I think it’s absolute magic running a die and a piece of cardstock through my die cut machine and finding a crisp clean cut with a beautiful design!

My machine has earned it’s miles and sometimes the die doesn’t cut all the way through and that’s ok.. because that’s exactly what we need for the technique I used with the new Love Hearts Die. If your machine cuts perfect on the first try you can add some packing tape to the back of your card stock to prevent it from cutting all the way through.
When the die doesn’t cut all the way through it still leaves an impression of the design. Color the design with markers. It’s ok to color outside the lines. Cut a second die all the way and punch out all the cuts. You can lay it over your coloring to make sure you didn’t miss any spots. When you’re happy with your coloring spread some glossy accents thinly over the entire colored panel and top it with your clean punched die cut. Next sprinkle on some iridescent fine glitter. I placed a big acrylic block over the panel to allow it to help prevent any curling of the paper.
I wanted to add even more color so before I adhered the clean punched die cut I applied some soft Distress Oxide ink to the flower centers with a cosmetic brush. It’s up to you whether you want more color or would like to keep the die clean. All that was left was to add a sentiment. I selected a sentiment from the Valentine Wreath stamp set. It fit perfectly inside the open heart.
I hope you’ll give this technique a try with any of your cover panels – the results are shiny, glossy and oh so pretty.
We hope you’ve enjoy this week of Valentine inspiration. Thanks for stopping by!
