Love Hearts Cover Plate
Hi friends! Leica here today with an A2 sized Valentine’s Day card. For this card, I used the new Love Hearts cover plate die. It’s super easy and fun to make cards with this die and I hope you will give it a try.
To start, I cut the Love Hearts die in white cardstock. I then colored the flowers with Copic markers in R85/83/81 and the leaves with G43/40. For the yellow centers of the flowers, I simply cut small squares of yellow cardstock and adhered them behind the flowers. Next, I adhered the cover plate onto an A2 sized dark pink cardstock.
For the 2 hearts, I inlay the pieces and added pink dots with Copic marker R83. I colored the hearts with a gold marker, stamped “Happy Valentine’s Day” on one of the hearts, and added the “love you” script on the other. This script is from the Valentine Wreath stamp set and coordinating die. I cut a few pieces and stacked it for dimension.
Lastly, I adhered the panel onto a card base. That’s all for this card. Thank you so much for stopping by today!
This is definitely my favorite of the release.
I really love the flowers. The little bit of detail—the dot cut outs–are wonderful. And the coloring of the centers is perfect. Really great die.
Ya know, I wasn’t sure what I thought of this coverplate when I first saw the introduction of it, but after watching both you and Lisa Mears, I’m convinced! I now think this is my favorite product from the newest release! LOVE!!!! Great job and thank you for turning me into a believer! LOL
Absolutely love your color choices! Makes for a beautiful card!
