Sweet As Can Bee

Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Catherine, and I’m buzzing with excitement to share this adorable bee shaker card featuring some of the newest goodies: the Bee Shaker, Honeycomb Stencil, and Eyelet Hexagons!

I started by ink blending a honeycomb background onto A2 white cardstock using the Honeycomb Stencil. Then I used the largest die from the Rounded Stitched Rectangles set to soften the edges and create a polished card base.

For the bee shaker, I die cut the bee base, bee frame, foam frame, and an acetate layer. I ink blended the bee frame with Black Soot Distress Oxide, then added color to the wings with Salty Ocean and Tumbled Glass. For the base layer, I blended Mustard Seed and Scattered Straw onto the body and Tumbled Glass onto the wings. I finished the face with eyes and smiles die cut from black cardstock, plus soft rosy cheeks blended with Spun Sugar.

To keep the shaker detail focused on the bee’s body, I trimmed the wings from both the acetate and foam layers. I adhered the acetate behind the bee frame, added the foam layer, then filled the center with Bee Happy Shaker Beads and a few Sparkling Clear Confetti pieces before sealing everything together. For a soft and airy touch, I added vellum behind the wings.

Next, I stamped and die cut the bee hives and dotted motion lines from the Bee Additions Stamp Set. I colored the hives with the Copic markers, Y13, Y11, Y00, and adhered them along the edges of the card front for extra detail and balance.

I die cut the largest Eyelet Hexagon and adhered it to the center of the card front, then layered the bee shaker on top to create the focal point.

To finish the card, I added the “Sweet as Can Bee” sentiment from the Bee Additions set, then embellished with a few dotted motion lines for movement, sparkling clear crystals, and a turquoise border for a bright finishing touch.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Be sure to check out the adorable new release over on the the store site.  Happy crafting!
