Day 5: Christmas Theme Week + Daily Giveaways
Hello Crafty Friends! It is Hanh here with you today. I’m sharing a fun and yummy Christmas card featuring the Big Christmas Cupcake Dies. Can you imagine if this were a real cupcake? Wouldn’t that huge Christmas tree worth of frosting be just heavenly?! It’s making me hungry already. This was a super fun die to play with because the possibilities for decorating this cupcake are endless.Â
I started by creating the background. I used the largest die from the Eyelet Rectangles Dies to diecut a piece of pink cardstock. The scalloped edges were masked off with some low tack tape. I used the three stencils in the Layered Snowflakes Stencils and Hero Arts Unicorn White pigment ink to create a subtle snowy background. I set that aside to dry as I worked on the cupcake.Â
The Big Christmas Cupcake Dies were used to diecut all of the cupcake, Christmas tree, ornaments, snowflakes ad bow out of white, red, green and gold cardstock. I used Copic markers (E41 W1) to add a little color to the white frosting. I also added some highlights with a white gel pen. The elements were assembled as seen in the photos, with liquid glue. Foam squares were used to adhere the bow and ornaments for a bit of dimension and interest.Â
For the sentiment, I stamped the “Merry Christmas” sentiment from the Christmas Banner Greetings onto a piece of white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I used the Banner Greetings 1 Dies to diecut the sentiment. I used the die to also diecut another banner out of green cardstock. The two banners were adhered to each other slightly offset to create a green shadow.Â
The cupcake and sentiment banner were adhered to the pink panel with foam tape. I adhered the larger snowflakes directly onto the pink panel with liquid glue. A piece of craft foam was adhered to the back of the pink panel before it was adhered to a white A2 cardbase (4.25″ x 5.5″).

I always start on Black Friday or the day after. This year I was watching Jennifer McGuire a lot of the day but I got moving on decorating after supper.

I always start decorating in mid November. As soon as Remembrance Day is over here in Canada, the Christmas stuff comes out at home. But at work I’m a little more reserved and wait until December 1 or sometimes earlier :)

This card is so pretty and this Christmas tree cupcake makes me want to eat one. I like how the cupcake pops against that pink background and snowflakes. We actually start to decorate for Christmas right before Halloween. We put up the Christmas tree! Lol

Forgot to say that I haven’t started decorating yet! I might skip putting up a tree this year because I have a 9 month old kitten I adopted last month and she is into everything! I think a tree this year would be a disaster… I usually wait til around mid-December to decorate!
This is a cute set!!! We actually start decorating right after Halloween. Just the lighted tree and I turn my lights on in my village I keep above my cabinets. During Thanksgiving break we decorate the rest and put ornaments on either Thanksgiving day or the day after. Outside decor goes up in December.

We started decorating the Monday after Thanksgiving. Hubby put up the new outside lights and now I’ve got to dust so the indoor decorations can be put up. But, I’m trying to get cards addressed and mailed–plus make a few more! Never where I plan to be at this time–haha!
My decorating begins on my birthday, December 14th which I enjoy so much. This has been a tradition for me most of my adult life.
The cupcake is so cute! We help with decorating at our church on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, then gradually decorate at home in the weeks after that. We will harvest a live tree from the National Forest this weekend and decorate it the next day.

Such a cute and fun card. I normally wait til the day after Thanksgiving to decorate my apartment and then I help my mom as well. But this year I had my tree up right after Halloween. I just love the lights. It just brings such peace and warmth. I love Christmas time!!

I love the cupcake! It would be such a cute design for a real cupcake as well. I love Christmas, so if I had my way I would probably start decorating long before Thanksgiving, but things always seem to get in the way and I don’t start until mid December. Trying to change that this year.

I love these cupcakes! Perfect to go with my mug dies! I plan to start decorating after Remembrance Day – which ends up being more likely the end of November. And takes a couple weeks – not because I have that much – just trying to fit it in the schedule!
