Merry Christmas Train

Hi crafty friends! Debbie here with the Christmas Train Stamp set from the new holiday release! All the new stamp sets, dies and stencils are so fantastic! The whole release is packed with so cuteness and this set is definitely top of the list! I knew that I wanted to color it up right away!

I have been on the teal, red and pink color combination train for this whole release. So why stop now!

For most of my cards I like to start off with my background panel. So I started off with the previously released Pierced Snowflakes Plate, and ran it through with a teal card stock. Using a dark teal ink to blend on the edges to give a frame look to draw the eye into. Then splattered on some white for the extra snowy effect. Set it to the side to dry.

Next, I stamped out the images from the Christmas Train stamp set with Copic friendly ink.

Copic Coloring Guide:
RV52, RV63, RV55, RV66
R24, R27, R29, R39
C0, C1, C3
BG11, BG13, BG15, BG18,  BG000
T3, T5, T6, T7

Once the coloring was done I used the Coordinating Dies to cut them out. Adding white highlights and foam squares to the back of the bigger images. The smaller images were tucked into the cart and attached on some of the images with liquid glue.

Then with the Large Merry Shadow Die, I die cut it out of the teal and white cardstock. To complete my sentiment, I stamped and white heat embossed the “Christmas” from the Christmas Bells stamp set on to a red card stock popping it up with foam for dimension. With the Sentiments Strips Die to trim it out and also adding foam squares to the back of the strip.

When I went to arrange this design, I knew I wanted it to look as though the train was climbing a hill by going back and forth up the mountain, so the train and tracks were placed at an angle. I also kept in mind to save an area for the large Merry word on the bottom of the card. It was a perfect grounding for the track!

I mentioned my color combo for Christmas, do you have a favorite combination? Only two more months until Christmas and I can’t wait to send out all my beautiful cards!

Thanks for stopping by and have a crafty day!
