Pastel Potion Bottles

Hi friends! Sophie here today, and I am super thrilled to share a fun Halloween card featuring new August products!

For this card I opted for a more non-traditional Halloween color palette with pinks, purples, and blacks/grays. To start I first used just one layer out of the Layered Potions Stencils. I think it is super fun to stretch supplies, especially stencils, to beyond what they were originally intended for. Using just one of the layers or selectively inking can give you a totally different look! For this card I just wanted the layers with the spiders, bats, and stars.

For the potion bottles I created one as a flat bottle without the shaker element and one with the shaker element. The shaker bottle is filled with the new Halloween Friends Confetti. This clay confetti set is the absolute cutest! There are little miniature frankensteins, ghosts, and Draculas intermixed with white stars. The more muted colors in this clay mix are perfect for a variety of color palettes!

I decided to cut a little arch element from vellum to ground my images. This little scalloped arch actually comes from the Scallop Box Card die set! It is fun to use this arch shape on regular cards as well – it is sized perfectly for elements on an A2 card.

The sentiment comes from the new Halloween Greetings stamp set. I LOVE how Paulina has been including a whole set of sentiments each release this year that coordinates with the whole theme of the release. Pretty Pink Posh is known for their fun collection of dies and it is always nice to have some stamped sentiments available to use with them all! I love that there are always coordinating dies as well.

To finish the card off I cut out some bats and a spider from the Potion Bottle die set and sprinkled them around. This also helps tie in the black from the sentiment and the background to the card I think!

I hope you found this inspiring! Do you like to use pinks for Halloween projects? I’d love to know below. Until next time!

  1. Pretty colors and layout of card. Also, like the way you used the stencil. It does give it a different look.
