Happy Retirement
Hello, Gemma here today to share a retirement celebration card. I used the Happy New Year stamp set, which is perfect for lots of occasions, not just New Year.
I began by embossing images from the Happy New Year stamp set on dark blue card with pale gold embossing powder. I then used the coordinating dies to cut them out, adding some extra layers behind for dimension.
I used pencils to add colour to the images. I first added a layer of white pencil, then added a colour over the top. If you have metallic paints, that would be a great alternative.
For the bottle, I used a gold gel pen to add a shine to the cork and foil at the top.
I cut a card base to 4.25” x 5.25, then adhered a panel of the dark blue card on top. To add some details, I took the Snowfall stencil and coloured through the spaces in the stencil with the gold gel pen. You could use a gold paste but this was a quick and easy alternative, with no clean up required.
The sentiment is from the Celebration Scripts stamp set. I embossed both words with the same pale gold embossing powder on dark blue card. I used the coordinating die to cut out the larger word, adding some layers for dimension. I then cut the smaller word into a strip and adhered both to the card to finish.
Have a great day! Thank you for stopping by!
Such a fun card! Love the coloring on dark cardstock!
