Day 2: Blog Hop- January Release Now Available

Hello friends! This is Mindy with you today to share some tips on how to use the brand new hot foil plates and Layered XOXO stencil.

First, I absolutely love hot foil plates and so excited to see these from Pretty Pink Posh in their signature font. They add so much shine to a project!

One of the things I cover in the video is cardstock. A smooth cardstock will give you the best results but you can also use color cardstock. By using some of the tips in the video, you can get amazing results on textured cardstock as well.

There are a few different foiling machines on the market right now but the ones I’m familiar with are Spellbinders and Crafter’s Companion. I’ll be using the Spellbinders Glimmer System in the video today.

There are also a few different glimmer foils available as well. I’m trying out the new DecoFoil Hot Foil Sheets. Don’t confuse these with their toner foil sheets which are meant to be used with a laminator.

A bonus to the Love Hot Foil Plate, is the shadow die from the Large Love Shadow die set which will cut out your foiled word.

I created a background for my foiled word using the Layered XOXO stencil, ink blending it in red and black. Then I added a glitter glaze over the black layer for sparkle.

To diffuse the background a little, I used the Scallop Frame and some vellum layered together with liquid glue.

My finishing touch is adding a smaller sentiment from the XOXO stamp set. I heat embossed it in White onto Black cardstock and trimmed down to a thin strip.
