I began with my background. On a piece of white card, I inked the edges with spun sugar, picked raspberry and abandoned coral distress oxide inks. I kept the centre free of colour to give a bright highlight area. I used my heat tool to dry the ink.
Next, I positioned the new Lattice stencil over the panel and inked through it with a clear embossing ink. I then heat embossed the stencil pattern with WOW White Pearl embossing powder. This powder looks different on the inked areas compared to the white card in the centre.
From the centre of the panel, I die cut the smaller of the heart dies from the All My Love coordinating die set. I also created a heart frame from white card, using both of the coordinating dies.
On a piece of heat resistant acetate, I stamped the heart image from the All My Love stamp set with clear embossing ink. I heat embossed the pattern with a superfine white embossing powder. I layered the acetate behind the embossed panel to show through the heart window opening.
On the reverse of the panel, I added a layer of foam tape. I had originally planned to create a shaker card, but decided instead to adhere some jewels in place behind the acetate window. This gives a look of sparkle behind the embossed patterned heart and they all stay in place.
Before adhering the jewels, I added a gel printed background to my card base. This was created using picked raspberry and spun sugar distress oxide inks. I then adhered jewels in different sizes to show through the window, using the Valentine jewel mix. I adhered the front panel onto my card base. The jewels look so pretty as they catch the light through the acetate window. It’s tricky to capture in the photos but is so pretty in real life.
For the sentiment, I embossed the large ‘Love’ stamp from the Valentine Hearts stamp set on pink card with white embossing powder. I love when word dies have coordinating dies as offers more possibilities for colours, both with the stamped word and the edge around it.
I added some blank die cuts behind the word for dimension, then adhered it on the card. I love the look of this sentiment and how it looks like handwriting on a card. It would be easy to add a smaller sentiment underneath this large word, depending on the recipient.
I finished by adding a few pink hearts from the Pink Hearts clay confetti above the sentiment.
Thanks for visiting! I hope we have given you some ideas for your Valentines! Stop back by tomorrow for more inspiration.
I really, really love this stamp. All of the images are so cute and sweet, especially the bird. I love every single stamp you sell that has little images that relate to the theme. I like how you embossed in white–it brings out the colors yet the image is subtle.
Awesome card. Great dies and stamps. .. Ready for Valentines day
Shaker cards are my fav! Beautiful, Gemma!
