Pretty Pink Posh: Valentine Theme Week- Day 3

Valentine’s Day is a pretty exciting time of year when you have little kids around, but I can distinctly remember some sad Valentine’s Days. After one of those in college, I made the decision to make it a day where I help others feel loved.  It’s been a goal of mine ever since, and now that I have children I love including them in that goal. Every year we talk and come up with a list of people who we think could use some extra love. Then we set to work creating notes, cards, and sometimes treats.

My littlest loves lollipops (probably because Grandma sneaks them to her), so she is going to show love by giving something she loves. Pretty Pink Posh had the perfect supplies to dress them up!  We used All My Love and the coordinating dies to mass produce a giant pile of hearts in pink, raspberry, red, aqua, and turquoise – a color combo I come back to again and again this time of year. Then I heat embossed the heart from All My Love on all of the smaller heart die cuts.  After layering the hearts together, we had a big pile to attach to some lollipops.  The lollipops were flat, which made them easy to stick onto the back of the hearts with a tape runner. I folded the packaging in a bit before adding the adhesive, so you wouldn’t see it poke out the sides.

We added a little flag, using the Stitched Labels 1 dies. The tiny heart on the flag comes from the Heart Vines dies and the sentiment is from All My Love. We’ll write her name on the back. To adhere, I simply put glue tape on the back side of the rounded edge of the flag and wrapped it around the stick.

I also wanted to show you how you could use the same supplies to make a card.  I created a slimline card and added a white double frame using the Slimline: Scallop Frames Dies

I ran both dies together at the same time, so the inner frame is actually the negative space between the two dies. I used three of the layered hearts for the focal point and added one of the other sentiments in All My Love.
