Best Wishes Fuchsias

Hello, Gemma here today to share a card featuring two sets that work perfectly together – Hummingbird Thanks and Flourishing Fuchsias.

To begin, I stamped all my images onto Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper, ready to use my Zig real brush pens and a water pen to add colour. I wanted to use some different colours for my fuchsias, so searched online for inspiration. I found an image of white and purple fuchsias so chose my colours based on that.

For the flowers and leaves, I used zig pens 80 Violet, 83 Lilac, 803 English Lavender, 45 Pale Green, and 40 Green. For the white areas, I used a touch of the paler green and purple colours for shading, so they aren’t just a stark white.

The hummingbird is coloured with 200 Sugared Almond Pink, 21 Light Carmine, 45 Pale Green, 47 May Green and 49 Green Shadow.

Once the images were coloured and dry, I die cut them with the coordinating dies.

As the colouring is light, I decided it needed a darker background to help the images stand out. I die cut the Storybook 1 die from dark grey card. I added this to a white card base, with a piece of patterned paper layered behind to complement the colour of the flowers.

I stamped a sentiment from the Everyday Greetings stamp set in one of the open panels, then added the images on top with foam tape. I finished by adding a few Pansy Purple jewels for a touch of sparkle.

I hope you enjoyed today’s post. Be sure to join us tomorrow. We have something fun to share!
