Neon Fresh Cut Florals

Hold onto your seats….I’m actually posting a card that wasn’t created for my challenge! As many of you know, I’ve been going through a slew of health issues so my energy level and moments of not feeling sick have been very few and far between. Thankfully, I recently had a doctor visit which may be the final piece in the puzzle and part of that was getting on some new supplements. Crossing my fingers they kick in soon so I can start crafting again!

I was hoping to do an update on Friday, but when I had the opportunity to spend a few nights with my one month old twin “nephews” who are here from the east coast, everything else was pushed down the list. I’m head over heels in love with these sweet little guys and I have no regrets about pushing everything else to the wayside for those precious few days I got to spend with them.

Okay, now onto my card for today. You may want to pull out your sunglasses, because I pulled out my NEON inks and did all sorts of color layering with them. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I’m in love with neon colors right now. These bright colors never cease to bring a smile to my face and I have a feeling I’ll be pulling them out for quite a while. I got to pull out my WPlus9 Fresh Cut Floral set and dies and had fun seeing which neon colors layered well together.

I wanted to go super simple with my card layout so these bright flowers would take the spotlight. I must say, I totally love the simple black/ white colors with these bright pops of colors and created another card similar to it {which you’ll see another day}.

So, what do you think? Are you loving the simple black/ white colors with the bright pops of color? I hope so! Also, what do you think of the color layering? I had so much fun seeing what new colors came from layering these brights together and can’t wait to do it again soon!

Fabulous Neon + GIVEAWAYS

If you have followed my blog or YouTube channel for a little while, you know that I recently picked up the Hero Arts neon ink cubes. I have been in neon heaven recently and loving every minute of it. There’s something about these little cubes that brings delight and happiness into my crafty days!

In keeping with the 10 Minute Craft Dash Birthday Bash theme, I have a card that can easily be used as a birthday card {even though it doesn’t outright say it}. Now I do have to say, this card didn’t turn out exactly how I had envisioned, but as the timer was counting down, I just couldn’t make the changes I wanted to.

Time it took to create: 9 minutes 23 seconds

Curious what changes I would have made if I had the time?

  • Remove the green washi tape and either use green patterned paper or stamp a subtle background on the paper.
  • Add some paper pierced dots or stitching to the white focal point cardstock.
  • Add some rhinestones or sequins somewhere…. it’s lacking a little pizazz!

While it isn’t a horrible creation, per se, it’s definitely not my favorite card ever. Yes, you read that correctly, even the creator of the challenge sometimes fails at perfecting her cards within the time limit.

I am so very excited to announce that on top of the amazing challenge prize and blog hop prizes, I get to host some giveaways during the 10 Minute Craft Dash Birthday Bash! My amazing long-time sponsor, re.Served, has graciously allowed me to give away some custom mugs in honor of this special occasion. There will be TWO winners, each receiving a custom hashtag mug saying #craftdashaddict. How amazingly cool is that? I think I need to get one of these for myself!

I hope you all have been able to keep up with all of the festivities so far. In closing, I just have to say a big thank you again for sharing in the excitement, participating in the blog hop and submitting entries for the challenge. Reading your comments has been the BEST!

I’ll be back tomorrow with another video and a cutesy boy birthday card- same time, same place! :)
