Superhero Thanks + News

Today I wanted to share a card that I made several months ago and never got to share. Both my work computer and camera have been on the outs for a while, so the photos I took of this card previously never looked decent. Thanks to the gorgeous weather here in Seattle recently, I’ve been able to take some better photos and am “stocked up” for upcoming posts.  Sadly, my computer has completely crashed from old age and I’m going to need to purchase a whole new one, for those who have been asking why I haven’t done any videos recently. I tell ya, I have a love/ hate relationship with technology…

Now back to the card for today. When I made this card, I was going through a phase of needing a break from pink and purple, so I pulled out some boy-ish colors that I think look darling with these superheroes.

One of these days I’ll have to share a snapshot or video of how I decide which stamps to use on a card. I typically pull out 5-6 stamp set that I want to use and then I’ll use a little of this set, a sentiment from another set and maybe some little elements from a different set. I always like trying to use the sets I have in new and creative ways and this is a great way to do that!

As I was putting together the pieces of the card, I needed a background and the  Teeny Star Background fit the bill perfectly. I have a thing for background stamps and this is one of my absolute favorites. To finish off the card, I used the thanks sentiment from the Stitched set by Impress and colored it in so it had an ombré feel. Such a fun sentiment that can be used in so many ways!

excitingnews

For my customers in Japan, I have some exciting news- the store Crop Party (located in Osaka) will be carrying Pretty Pink Posh sequins and dies very soon! They placed their first order and I’ll be shipping it later this week and that means you can order right in their store! I am so very excited about this amazing opportunity and it wouldn’t be possible if you didn’t continue to share you love of PPP with your local stores.

I wanted to update you all on my sequins. I’m getting a HUGE restock shipment of the sequins that have been out of stock for quite some time. I know there are quite a few that have been waiting for this restock, so I’ll be doing a special 3 day coupon once they arrive. Stay tuned!

Thanks for stopping in and spending some time with me today. Until next time…

November 2014 Release

Hello, sweet readers!

As most of you know, I typically do my releases on the 1st of every month and quite honestly, I wasn’t going to do a release this month.  I know things can get crazy with the holidays and then budgets get a little tighter, but I got a large amount of requests for a release, so I decided to do a (small) release this month. These items are super fun and I’ll admit, I’m happy that you all were interested in new products. These are PERFECT for the holidays!

For those who are still trying to collect all of the sequin colors and sizes, I just got in over a dozen shipment of sequins (can you say hundreds of pounds of sequins?!) and I was wanting to make sure I got all stocked up for the holiday season. Whether you need some for yourself, or maybe for gifts and stocking stuffers, I got you covered!

My first card showcases the 4mm Metallic Gold sequins that are quickly rising to my favorites list. They add just the right amount of sparkle and it bring together the other gold in the card and makes the card just a bit more festive. Did you happen to notice the sparkly twine? That’s one of four that’s new to the shop during the holiday season. LOVE!

Curious on what I used on this card? I used the Laurel Wreath die and Prize Stag die from Ellen Hutson, along with the Cozy Christmas set. If you missed the In Review video I did on these products, along with the whole release, CLICK HERE.

My next card is a little more elegant and features the brand new sequin color in the shop- Burgundy! This is a nice change than the typical red and it’s so scrumptious! On this card I used the Botanical Wreath set from Impress Rubber Stamps, along with the Winnie & Walter set called The Big, The Bold and The Happy.

Pretty Pink Posh

For this card I pulled out the window panes from the Stitched Duo 1 die set to create my focal point. Just in case you’re curious about the ink colors I used on this card, I have a video about it coming soon! *wink*

Okay, now on to the video showing you the new products, along with sneaks of cards I’ll be sharing soon…

Holiday Poinsettias

Wow, is it really the last day of September? Do you know what that means? TOMORROW is release day and I’ll be sharing a couple of cards, a reveal video and the new products will be available for purchase!

As many of you know, I love giving you sneak peeks and today’s card shows one of the new dies that will be available starting tomorrow. Can you spot it? If you said the small tag die, you are absolutely correct. This is part of a trio of dies and I think you’re going to love them!

Pretty Pink Posh

Last month, I shared the Impress Botanical Wreath set and I pulled it out again for today’s card. How pretty are those poinsettia blossoms? Love them in the rich Raspberry Jam ink from Hero Arts. (See below for the product list)

Lately I have been loving gold, but I thought I’d break out the silver for this holiday card. I added a few Metallic Silver sequins, along with a small silver jingle bell. I just love these little bells!

Pretty Pink Posh

For some reason, the holidays make me want to break out the glitter and I added a touch to the poinsettia flowers. All sorts of sparkly goodness on this one!

Just in case you missed the news in my last post, I have a new podcast episode up with my friends at ScrapOwl. If you listen to the episode, let me know what your favorite part was! I always get so nervous doing these sorts of things, so any feedback from you gives me courage to more things like this in the future!

Well, I’m going to close this post.  I will see you bright and early tomorrow for a new post and the unveiling of the new products!

Mix and Match

Have you had a weekend pass you  by and you felt like you accomplished a lot? That’s what happened to me this weekend. Honestly, this feeling hasn’t happened in SO long (due to my health issues and low energy), but things are starting to look up and I can’t wait to tackle even more! Watch out…. once I’m closer to full health, I have all sorts of plans and ideas that I’ve been putting on hold!

Today I have another card to share using the Seattle Christmas set, along with the newly purchased Snow Day set from Lawn Fawn. Many of you know that I love mixing and matching my stamp sets and I was pleasantly surprised to see how perfectly these ones go together.

Christmas in September + GIVEAWAY

impressIt’s funny, when I first opened the Pretty Pink Posh Shop, I naively thought I would have more time to create. Silly me! Nowadays, I have to purposefully plan ahead and schedule days/ times to craft, or it will never happen. Sometimes it’s hard to get the creativity going, but every now and then, a stamp set will inspire me and then I have to force myself to stop so I can get sleep!

Today’s post showcases three brand new stamps sets from Impress Rubber Stamps that not only were easy to dive into, they also go my creativity going on overtime. I whipped these three cards up, all while drinking just one Starbucks drink! That, my friends, is a good craft day. *wink*

impress4a

This first card is the simple one of the bunch, but it would be perfect for mass producing! I used the Stitched Duo 1 die for my focal point, along with the scallop from the Stitched Borders 1. I used one of the sprigs from the Botanical Wreath set and then masked the Space Needle and stamped the sentiment (from the Seattle Christmas set). To dress it up a little bit more, I added some Sparkling Clear sequins and twine and voila!

 impress4b

This next card features the same sprig from the card above, but I used it to create my own wreath. I LOVED working with the Botanical Wreath set because of the endless possibilities and the great images solid images. Once I finished the wreath, I thought it lacked color and dimension, so I pulled out my trusty 4mm sequins (in Raspberry and Metallic Gold). Not only did it add color and dimension, it made it more festive as well!

Last, but certainly not least, I created a shaker card that shows off the Seattle Christmas set and some snowflakes from Build A Snowman. I don’t know if you could tell, but I used a lot of blue, green and red/ pink on today’s card. I love the way this color combination looks so perfect for Christmas and also reflects the Pacific Northwest. Speaking of which, something exciting is coming that Impress will be carrying exclusively (outside of my shop). Stay tuned for that!

For those new to shaker cards, I did a Sequin Shaker video tutorial a while back that shows how simple shaker cards can be. I personally always got intimidated by them, so I streamlined the process and you can see the results are super fun!

Here’s a closer view of the shaker card. Don’t the Sparkling Clear, Aquamarine and Raspberry sequins look good together? It’s so fresh and festive!

Since today was a special post, I also found some time to film a quick little video. I show these cards a little more in depth, along with a peek at the three stamp sets I featured in this post. This is a new kind of video (for me), so let me know what you think!
