You’ve Got A Friend

Hello, friends!

Today I have a card to share that I made during a previous crafty session. It’s so funny-some months I’m all caught up on orders and the day-to-day office work, so I have all sorts of crafty time, and then other months I’m so busy that I don’t get to craft at all. Oh the struggle of seeing all the new products laying in the studio and not getting to use them… Can anyone relate to that?

On this card, I pulled out several Lawn Fawn sets- Gleeful Gardens, Let’s Play and Happy Easter (supply list below). If you have followed my blog for a while, you know I love mixing and matching sets and brands and I really did that on this card.

Pretty Pink Posh

For my focal point, I started off with the Stitched Duo 2 and die cut it with the light blue paper from the Avery Elle Sorbet Collection (you know the one- the paper pack I bought at least six times ON PURPOSE). I then put together my scene using the Lawn Fawn stamps and added the Picket Fence die, along with a grassy “hill” made from the scallop in the Stitched Borders 2 die set. To round out the focal piece, I added this fun sentiment from the Ella & Friends set.

For the card base, I stamped the Arrow background from Create A Smile, added a light yellow and white scallop strip (die cut from the Stitched Borders 1) and then put everything together. To finish off the card, I added a couple of sequins and some flowers from the Spring Flowers Mix to the corner.

I mentioned that I would bring some sneak peeks and an update on where you can find Pretty Pink Posh. As you know, it’s just me doing everything here, so I’ve been really cautious about not growing too quickly and still maintaining quality customer service. Recently, I’ve been able to bring on a couple more retailers- one of them being in Japan and another one coming to the UK (not yet revealed yet)!

I’m currently working on some fun things that I’ll announce here on the blog soon. I’ll see you tomorrow for another post!

Happy Elephants + Sneak Peek

As I’m typing this, I should be working on new release orders, but I wanted to pop in with another post. You all never cease to amaze me with your kind words and unwavering support. This release I was struggling with a dreaded migraine through all the prep, but after reading all the comments you left, it reminded me why I do what I do. Thank you.

I’m planning on doing a March Favorites video and can you guess what will be making an appearance? If you said the Wplus9 Unforgettable set, you’re correct!  I’ve always thought elephants were cute, but Dawn raised the cuteness level with these little guys.

You know I love little window cards, so I created one using the new Stitched Banner Duo, along with the squares from the Stitched Duo 3 dies. I figure if one elephant is cute, adding three to a card makes this card too cute for words.

In the March 2015 Release video, I mentioned that I am loving the Arrows set from Create A Smile. I used it on so many cards recently- I didn’t realized I NEEDED it until I started using it. Such an easy way to add a subtle background without always using polka dots and stripes.

I wanted to remind you to mark your calendars for Thursday, March 5th. The design team and I will have projects to share with you using the new dies and sequins, along with GIVEAWAYS, and of course, inspiration. Here’s just a peek at what’s to come.

Well, this girl should get back to packaging orders. Thank you all again for all the love!

March 2015 Release + Giveaway

It’s here, it’s here! The March release is here! This month I have three brand new dies, a new sequin and confetti color and some fabulous new sequin mixes. Spring is on the horizon and you can tell I’m gearing up for it with this release.

I’ve always been a fan of cards that have a scene and with the new Picket Fence die, it makes everything come together perfectly. I pulled out the new Wplus9 set called Unforgettable (which is my current favorite set) and had the little elephant take the spotlight. I think it’s so fun how it looks like he’s prancing along the grass with flowers scattered about. Those flowers are from the new Spring Flowers Mix, which is something that has been requested for some time. I love how this mix turned out and I know you all will love using these flowers on your cards!

As I was creating this card, I was trying to figure out a way to add a sentiment and then an AHA moment came. Why not try putting the sentiment on the new Stitched Labels 1 die? I was giddy with how it turned out and now I’m thinking of all the other possibilities!

This second card features the new Stitched Banner Duo, along with the yummy new Lime Sorbet sequins. When I designed this die set, I really wanted to focus on creating a banner shape that was meant for cards, but also had the option to be used for other crafting projects. More ideas for this die coming in future posts/ videos!

In today’s video, I highlight the way I layered the Stitched Borders 1 & 2 dies. Every now and then, an idea will come to me and I want to share it. This, my friends, is one of them. How neat does it look with the stitched scallop and straight stitched border look layered?! Such a small detail, but I think it really enhances the card.

Happy Friends + VIDEO

Today I have a brand new In Review post and video to share with you. I was recently in contact with Create A Smile, a new stamp company based in Germany. Their stamps are cute, quality made stamps with a hint of whimsy to them. The owner, Christine, is very sweet and I had such a great time testing out and playing with her products. PLUS, her international shipping rates start at just $5!

Pretty Pink Posh I Create A Smile

If you’re new to my blog, I’ve done a couple In Review posts in the past (and am hoping to continue them on sporadically through 2015). In these posts I showcase the cards I created with the company featured, along with a video showcasing the products I tried out and info/ giveaway details. Let’s get started with the post, shall we?

Pretty Pink Posh I Create A Smile

The first card features the cute little penguin and sentiments from the Penguin Party set. This cutie can be used to create all sorts of fun scenes. I used the Stitched Duo 2 to create my scene and then added in a grass die, along with the Picket Fence die (that I will be releasing on March 1st). To finish off the scene, I added in some white sequin flowers and a couple sequins in the corners. Sweet, simple, but super cute results.

Pretty Pink Posh I Create A Smile

The second card showcases the Monster Party and Arrows stamp sets. As I mention in the video, the arrow set is what made this whole feature come to be. I loved how simple this background is, yet it makes such a difference on cards. It’s a nice change of pace from my polka dot backgrounds!

Pretty Pink Posh I Create A Smile

For this card, I decided to use the Stitched Duo 3 die as my focal panel and created a little scene with the monsters. These silly guys are so fun and you can’t help but smile when you color them. To finish off the card, I added a twine bow to the largest monster and a few yellow sequin flowers.

Pretty Pink Posh I Create A Smile

This last card is the brightest of the bunch, but I thought it was appropriate since it’s a birthday card. I knew I wanted to have the penguin with cake as the focal point, so I played around with a few dies and thought he looked the best with the Stitched Film Strip. The card needed a little extra pop of color, so I added the scallop from the Stitched Borders 1 to either side. A little addition of sequins to bring in more color and this card was done.

Pretty Pink Posh I Create A Smile

Since today was a special post, I also found some time to film a quick little video. I show these cards a little more in depth, along with a peek at the three stamp sets I featured in this post.

GIVEAWAY ALERT: At the end of the video, I share how you can win some Create A Smile goodies and sequins.
