Young Crafters Unite Challenge #3

Hello, blog friends!
I hope you all are ready for a new challenge- we have a brand new one starting for the Young Crafters Unite Challenge #3! It has been so much fun seeing many of you participate in these challenges. Whether you are a young crafter, or young at heart, we welcome ALL to join us!
For my card today, I pulled out some of my WPlus9 Design Studio stamps. I used the Guiding Light, Guiding Light Sentiments and Woodgrain Silhouettes sets for this masculine card. I usually can’t whip up a guy card, but with these stamps, it was pretty easy!

Are you ready to tackle this challenge? I hope so! However, if you’re in need of some more inspiration? The YCU DT has some fabulous masculine cards to share with you- be sure to check them out!
Oh, and I can’t forget to mention there’s a fabulous prize up for grabs. Simon Says Stamp has graciously offered up a $25 gift certificate to the winner of this challenge! Imagine all the goodies you could pick up with that!

Ready to play along in this challenge? Head on over to the Young Crafters Unite site to upload your card and/or get all the details!
Thanks for stopping by- until next time……

Hello from California!

Hello there!
I’m writing from sunny California today. After some crazy work months and long hours, I was in need of a little extra time off. Since I have family down here, I thought it’d be the perfect opportunity to take a weekend trip. Yesterday we went to Hollywood, LA, Beverly Hills, Venice Beach and Santa Monica. (Pics to come later) Lots of fun memories and laughs. :)
Today I’m sharing a card that I made quite a few months back, but never got around to sharing. For this one, I paired up DeNami Design & WPlus9, which I think work fabulously together.
I forgot how much I love Berry Sorbet- this color is just so delicious!

I must say, this sentiment “Sending You Love” is one of my absolute favorites. It works with so many different occasions, and I LOVE the handwriting!
That’s all for today. Have to go get ready for the beach!

Mehndi Birthday

Good morning!
Thank you all so much for the comments on my Young Crafters Unite Blog Hop post. It was great to receive comments all throughout the weekend- it was little rays of sunshine in my day.
Today I have a super CAS card to share with you. As I mentioned in a previous post, I had lots of friends who had birthdays in June- my sweet cousin being one of them. She had lived in India for a short time, so I thought this might be fitting for her. :)
I rarely ever create one layer cards; they are super hard for me! However, this set made it really easy AND the card is cute. (Is it okay to toot my own horn?!)
It’s back to work today. I had a four day weekend, which went by all too quickly. However, I’m excited to head back and get orders out from the new DeNami Design release!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today. I hope you have a great day!

Quick and Easy Birthday

Hi there!
I was hoping to show you my sister’s (the bride to be) wedding card today, but I still haven’t had time to make it! Eeek…the wedding is tomorrow! I also need to make my Father’s Day card for my dad and grandpas. Hopefully I can squeeze in a bit of time before decorating the church and the wedding rehearsal tonight!
I have another birthday card to share with you today. Remember how I said I had a lot of friends birthday’s this month? I totally wasn’t kidding. Here’s my take on doing a quick & easy birthday card…..
A while back I would constantly use the Prima roses, but lately I’ve been finding it harder to incorporate them into my designs. I was thrilled when I tried them out on this card and it looked great! I just love the color of these rosebuds- wouldn’t it be fun if there really was flowers this color?
Okay, need to wrap up this post. Off to pick up my cousins, who I haven’t seen in months- I LOVE LOVE LOVE that all my relatives were able to come up for the wedding. It’s going to be so fun seeing everyone! Just to warn you, there may not be many blog posts in the next few weeks…..I’ll do my best to post though, I DO have quite a few cards you haven’t seen yet.
Have a great rest of your Friday, sweet blog friends.

Color Cue 16

Good morning!
Today I have a card to share featuring the Color Cue #16 colors. You may be surprised that I already have a card done for this (as Dawn posted it last night). Let’s just say I was up late and I couldn’t wait to give this color palette a whirl.
For this card I pulled out my newly purchased Pile It On stamp set, along with the coordinating die. I had so much fun creating all the different colored “flavors”!  I loved the dotted line in the set, so I thought I’d create a fun little design, then add rhinestones. Guess it’s good I collect bling; I had rhinestones for all the colors!
Well, sweeties, that’s all for today. Time to start work! Thanks so much for stopping by; talk with you later.

Color Cue 15

Hi there!
Wanted to pop in really quick and share the card I created for the Color Cue #15. These aren’t colors I would have ever thought to put together, which was fun. Don’t you love going outside your “comfort zone”?

I pulled out the Filigreed Frames and Woodgrain Silhouettes sets for this card- I thought they worked together really well!
Did you notice the patterned paper on the butterflies? Yet another one I recently purchased. :)
Thanks for stopping by and leaving me some love today! {{hugs}}

Totally Hues Challenge 7

Hello!
Wow, is it Saturday already?! It’s quite sad….I made this card a week ago, and am just now getting to post it. Amazing how a week can go by that quickly!
This card was based off of Heather’s gorgeous Totally Hues Challenge #7. These colors are so lovely together!
I pulled out my WPlus9 set, Woodgrain Silhouettes Additions, for the focal image. I just can’t get enough of this stamp! It’s the perfect size, and works for all sorts of cards!
Here you can see I added some Mossy Green rhinestones to the leaf image. It adds a little extra texture and sparkle, which I love. Also, I added some light pink pearls to my butterfly die cut. I tell you, it’s the little things that make a card look complete!
Hope you enjoyed today’s card. Have a great rest of you day!

Happy Mother’s Day

Hello there!
I know I’m a day early, but I have my DeNami Girlie Girl Blog Hop post scheduled for tomorrow. I hope you all will come check it out- there will definitely be LOTS of gorgeous girlie cards!
For today’s post, I have the card that I’m giving to my mom for Mother’s Day. I think I’m safe in posting this- today we have my sister’s bridal shower, and I doubt my mom will get on the computer to see this. :)
This card features four different stamp companies: DeNami Design, Papertrey Ink, Waltzingmouse Stamps and WPlus9. I’m so pleased with how this turned out- all of the sets work together so well!
I have to say, I was inspired by Laurie with this card. I stuck with a CAS layout, and I tried adding two Prima flowers for this card. Can you believe I’ve never done that before? Love the look!
Well, I better run and help with the finishing touches of the shower. Thanks for stopping by- I’ll see you again tomorrow morning!

Color Cue Challenge #14

Hello blog friends!
It’s time for the new WPlus9 Color Cue Challenge! Since I’m the April Guest Designer, I have the privilege of joining in on the fun with the rest of the DT. Gotta love this gig! :)
If you’ve followed my blog, you know that I adore Dawn’s challenges- she always has the best color combos! I believe, if I counted correctly, this is the TENTH time I’ve had the chance to play along! You know I really enjoy a challenge when I continue to play along in them. *wink*
Here is my take on the Color Cue #14 Challenge:
I stamped the card base with a solid leaf from Woodgrain Silhouettes Additions. I know I’ve said it a million times, but this set truly is a MUST HAVE. You’ll notice that I also pulled out Guiding Light and Guiding Light Sentiments
Did you notice that I used the Label Layers 1 Die? Such a great shape, and also SUPER versatile!
I hope this card inspired you to join along in the fun over on Dawn’s blog! Be sure to stop by and check out the DT samples, along with getting the rest of the details.
Well, that’s all for right now. I will be back later with some super fun and bright cards. Hope you’ll come on back! :)

Laura’s Sketch Challenge

Good morning, sweet blog friends!
Oh goodness, this weekend has been full of super sweet comments. Thank you all SO much. With my iPhone, I’m able to read my comments as they come in. It was so nice to read some while I was working out, then when I was stamping. I am so blessed with such amazing blog readers. :)
My blog friend, Laura, recently put a sketch up on her blog. I used to play along with her while she was co-hosting 2 Sketches 4 You a while back. I was so happy to see she designed a new sketch; she always has great ones.
Here is my take on it…..
I pulled out my beloved WPlus9 sets for this card. For the background and the butterflies I used Woodgrain Silhouettes Additions. Then for the “friend” sentiment I used the new A Special Lady set.
Hope this card brought some sunshine into your morning. Have a great rest of your day!!
