My First Sponsor!

If you ask a blogger if they have goals or dreams for their blog, chances are they’ll say yes. Usually the list consists of  having heavier blog traffic, more blog followers or pins on Pinterest. For the serious bloggers, the list consists of sponsors.

I have debated on whether I wanted to offer companies, Etsy stores or blogs to sponsor my site for quite some time. After an influx of consistently higher traffic volumes, and the amount of time blogging increasing, I decided to give it a go.

Welcome, re.Served. This is a local Seattle Etsy seller who I have purchased from multiple times {ie SEVEN times in one month} and can stand behind 100%. Fabulous items, great quality and a super sweet seller.

I am so grateful to have Victoria as my very first sponsor here on Pretty Pink Posh. She has seriously been such a gem to work with and I’m a fan for life.

In closing, I wanted to mention that if YOU think your company, blog or Etsy shop might be something my growing readership will enjoy, visit my sponsors page! Please note that I will NEVER allow an ad to run if I don’t think my readers will enjoy it or the products aren’t something I stand behind. You all mean way too much to me!

I hope you have a fabulous Friday. I’m off to go spend the day with family!

New Contributor to Pretty Pink Posh

2013 will be a year of growth, changes and excitement here at Pretty Pink Posh. If you haven’t already, be sure to Subscribe to Pretty Pink Posh by Email so you don’t miss any posts. I have new sponsors, giveaways, Featured Bloggers and much, much more coming!

One of the things I’m most excited about? My sister will be contributing her amazing crafty creations & food items to this blog occasionally! Now you may be wondering why I’m bringing on someone new to add content to the blog, I know I did before when visiting other blogs. The biggest reason: you get fabulous inspiration from another source with a different style.

Krista majored in Professional Baking at a local community college during high school and graduated with honors and an increasing desire to learn more than just the art of baking and pastry work. She began the Culinary Arts program while taking outside courses to achieve her degree in Applied Sciences.  She had the opportunity to compete for the Student Chef of the Year 2010 competition for Washington State and achieved the title “ ACF Student Chef of the Year”. After graduating, she interned at a prestigious restaurant in Seattle and was later hired on and became a sous chef. While working, she was also on the ACF Culinary Youth Team for the United States and competed in Germany for the competition among young chef worldwide.  {The team won both gold and silver!} Now she is resting up after her whirlwind adventures to Germany and Japan and planning where she wants to go next.

While Krista has gone into the culinary field professionally, she is EXTREMELY talented in crafting and photography as well. I’m constantly amazed at her talent and skills. It’s not unusual to find her sewing, creating unique decor items, trying out new crafting techniques or doing random photo shoots.

Here’s a peek at some of the things she made in December…..

I have told Krista about the amazing community of people I have met via blogging and I can’t wait for her to get to know you all {and vice versa}.  Please join me in giving her a great big welcome- she’s a little hesitant about this new endeavor.

Thank you so much for joining me today. I hope your new year is off to a great start!

Christmas Is Not About Gifts…..

christmasquote1

I will  be the first to admit that I love buying gifts for people, almost to a fault. I love showing the people I hold dear how much they mean to me-  in cards, random acts of kindness and gifts. Showing them in tangible ways how much I treasure our relationship is definitely my love language.

It’s so easy during this time of year to get caught up in the busyness of the season. Buying presents, sending out cards, Christmas parties, holiday baking…… I’ll admit, I sometimes find myself getting sucked into all of it as well. This year, since I was relying on everyone else for rides to get presents, I was getting really starting to get stressed out that it all wouldn’t get done. In the craziness, I had to step back and remember what the TRUE meaning of the season is. Sure, it’s fun to take part of the hustle and bustle, but really this season is so much more than this.

TREASURE the precious moments you have with your loved ones and friends. I know that this year has been financially tough on many- DON’T stress about the presents. Those who are around you {who truly care about you} don’t want things, they want quality time and moments to create memories. How do I know? Every loved one around me has said these words to me.

Tomorrow I’ll be posting a list of some special things you can do {with young and old} to create memories. They won’t necessarily be things just for the Christmas season- there will be things that can be done throughout the year as well.

I’m hoping each of you will join me tomorrow- you can help list items that I missed! :) I hope you all are enjoying this special holiday season this year. So glad you decided to spend a little bit of time with me today!

Support those in Newtown, CT

As I mentioned in my last post, the tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut area has burdened me greatly. While I deal with high schoolers at my church weekly, I have always had a heart for small children as well. As soon as I heard about this horrific ordeal, I knew in my heart that I wanted to do something to help. But what?
I logged onto the computer and saw that my friend, Amber at Damask Love, was also burdened for this community and wanted to do something. I immediately contacted her and asked what she had in mind. While there are so many different ways we can help, I wanted to “team-up” (for lack of a better word) with her and join her idea. Amber is a pediatric psychologist and has an understanding with how to help children dealing with grief and difficult situations. After hearing her idea, I immediately jumped on board and am going to do everything I can to help.
Amber did a great job describing exactly what this specific cause will do, so I’m just going to direct you to her blog- CLICK HERE to view the direct post with all the details.
You all know I don’t ask for much from you– however, whatever you can do to help this cause, I urge you to. Whether it’s donating financially, sending cards, or sending supplies for this cause, we each can help in sharing our love to those in Connecticut.
While I know our words cannot erase the pain and grief, our thoughts & prayers and these actions of love will at the very least show them others are standing behind them. We are grieving with them. We are behind them.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or you can contact Amber at her blog. Thank you, sweet friends, for spreading the word and supporting this cause……

Busy Week

Can you all believe that there are only 17 days until Christmas? If you follow the Pretty PinkPosh Facebook page, you saw that yesterday I did a little bit of Christmas shopping. While I am far from finished, it was great to get some of it taken care of. Normally I’m on top of it a little bit more, but this year with everything that has happened, it’s taken me a bit longer to get in the shopping mood. Hoping I can finish everything on time!
Last week I started a new feature called the “Week in Review”. It sounds like this might be something you all will enjoy, so we’ll give it a little trial run until 2013.
I want to remind you all that TOMORROW is the last day to enter the giveaway I’m hosting. If you haven’t already, be sure to enter! Click here for the details! Reading your favorite items from the re.Served store has been so fun- now I’m eying even more over there!
Whew, this week has been filled jam packed for me! In between the two blogs I write on, the videos I’ve been filming, work and planning for the first six months of 2013 sponsorships, I haven’t been able to find much time to create things. Hopefully I can knock out quite a bit today; especially since I’m participating in the DeNami Pretty Packaging Blog Hop tomorrow.
Thanks for stopping by and for all the sweet comments you’ve left this week. Hope you’ll join me tomorrow for my blog hop project!

New Feature + Sponsorship Opportunities

Do you ever have a hard time keeping up with all the blogs in your reader? If you’re anything like me, you follow lots of blogs and sometimes, you may accidentally miss a post. While we try to keep up-to-date on everything, it can be easy to miss an important post!
I came up with an idea to help with this- Week in Review. The idea is to post snippets of all the posts from the week and any important info that you all won’t want to miss. I WILL need you help though- can you let me know if this is something you would like? It’ll take a little bit of work on my end, but it’s worth it if it helps you!
Let’s give this feature a whirl….. If you missed any of the posts listed, you can click on the photo to visit the direct link!

Some may have noticed some changes in my blog design recently. As I’ve put in many more hours doing blog posts, whether it be creating projects, lining up sponsorships for the 10 Minute Craft Dash, or working on collaborations, I’ve learned that these things add up.
After doing a lot of thinking, I have decided to become an affiliate with Amazon.com! If you ever need an item from Amazon {gifts, anyone?}, if you use my search bar on the right hand side, I’ll receive credit and a small commission for items you purchase. The small amount of income will help with my hosting costs & crafting supplies and also fund some of the giveaways I’ll be hosting in the future!
Also, another new item on the blog- I’m now offering sponsorship opportunities! If you have a business or blog that you think the Pretty Pink Posh readership might enjoy, consider sponsoring an ad!

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today. Can’t wait to hear what you think of this feature and the opportunity to sponsor Pretty Pink Posh!
