Thankful Thursday

Thankful Thursday- September 27th

Do you ever have days when you are just so excited you want to dance around? Okay, so I might be the only one….

As you all know, I’ve been going through a rough time with everything around the accident {click here}. I’ve had some up days and lots of down days, but overall, I’ve tried to keep my head up and stay positive. I’m SO happy to say that this week has been the best week thus far! I’ve had more up days than down days this week which is HUGE! Seeing energy return, more movement in my neck {thanks to my chiropractor}, and overall less pain has been such an amazing feeling. I feel like the “old me” is returning slowly!

This week, my list is a bit longer- there were so many things happening, I couldn’t narrow it down!

  • I have driven myself TO and FROM work these past two days!
  • My neck and back pain is slowly decreasing! Woohoo!
  • I got to see my “niece” twice this week {she lives in VT, but came out for her first birthday}
  • Created lots and lots of crafty goodness over the weekend. I’m so thrilled to be back in the groove and can’t wait to start sharing some of them!
  • Finalized details and making lots of plans for things here on the blog- SO many exciting things coming!
  • Sweet unexpected surprises in the mail. {Thank you Tina for brightening my day!}
  • Long phone sessions with my sister as she preps for her cooking competition in Germany
  • My youngest brother for always looking out for his big sister.

Last week, I had four amazing gals share their Thankful Thursday lists. It was so fun to rejoice and “share” in the things that have brought joy into your life. I would love to see YOUR list! What are YOU thankful for this week?

Thankful Thursday: September 20th

Hello, blog friends!

One month ago, my life changed. (story here). To some, I may sound like I’m being dramatic, but it’s the honest truth. These last four weeks I’ve gone through pain like I have never before. I’ve had to depend on people in ways I haven’t since I was a kid. I’ve been tested in ways that have shaken me to my core. There have been many tears cried out- in pain, frustration, anxiety and uncertainty of the unknown. I would be lying to you if I said I didn’t question God as to why all this had to happen.

Despite all the challenges and tests I’ve faced thus far because of the accident, I AM starting to see a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel.Again, I’m so incredibly grateful for all the prayers thus far. I’m still not out of this journey yet, and we don’t have many answers, but things are moving in the right direction. :)

Here is my list what I’m thankful for this week:

  • my chiropractor. I wasn’t able to move my neck at all after the accident- now I can! Still a ways left to go, but I’m so thrilled I’m seeing progress!
  • unexpected get well notes in the mail- they make my heart swell with thankfulness!
  • my bestie. She is simply amazing. I wish I could list everything she has done for me, but that would be a super long post. Let’s just say I have the best bestie in the world. :)
  • comfort food. My mom made my favorite casserole the other day and I’m savoring every single bite.
  • laughter. It’s true, sometimes laughter is the best medicine (especially when you are having a bad day).

Each week, as I’ve been doing these posts, it’s been neat to see more and more of you open up and share about what you are thankful for. I read each and every one of these and as the weeks go by, I feel as if I’m starting to get to know you better and better. :) Let’s keep it up, shall we? What are YOU thankful for this week? No matter how big or small, I would love to see your lists!

See you all tomorrow!

Thankful Thursday: September 13th

Hello!

Thank you to all who have been checking in on me. On Tuesday I had not one by THREE MRI’s done- neck, back and brain. As of yet, no news yet from the various doctors. Hopefully we’ll get some answers in the next couple of days. Later on today, I have a food panel test (which I’ve never done before), to see if something I ate may have caused all of this. Still not back to normal, but overall, we’re seeing improvements in the right direction.

Despite all of this, I’m reminded to count my blessings. Here’s my Thankful Thursday list for this week:

  • Salted Carmel Mochas. I’m so happy they’re back at Starbucks! Makes even a crummy morning a little brighter.
  • Boots. It’s been chilly when I leave in the mornings, so I’ve been wearing my different boots and forgot how much I love them. (They’re SO much more comfortable than heels!)
  • Massage Therapy. I had my first session yesterday and I can already feel some tension released and my back stretched a little more. It’ll be a while, but I’m so grateful for the relief of some pressure off my neck and shoulders.
  • Such amazing and caring parents who are doing everything they can for me right now. I’m so very blessed!
  • YOU. My blog readers are so incredibly sweet. I’ve received some cards and gifts and am blown away by your giving hearts.

Well, my dear blog friends, that’s it for me. What are YOU thankful for this week? It doesn’t matter if they’re small, big, silly or random things- let’s just take time to count our blessings. :)

Thankful Thursday: September 6th

Hello!

Oh boy, this is going to be a difficult post. These two weeks have been hard, but these last couple days have been hardest. I was thinking that I was recovering and then all of a sudden I was setback…A LOT. The pain has increased and now I’m dealing with a new slew of issues. It doesn’t look like I’ll be “back to normal” super quickly– I’m still not able to work full days, drive and my movement is still super limited. I’m hoping that with each day, I’ll start feeling better and able to get back to my old routine. For those who have been praying for me, thank you!

Even in the midst of all these issues, I know I still have things to be thankful for. Here’s my list for this week:

  • The car I was driving is repaired and appears to be working great.
  • I’ve been able to go to the chiropractor and we have a plan to fix my neck/ back/ spine.
  • A great family that is willing to drive me to the various places I need to go.
  • Twitter friends who have quickly real life friends who make me laugh.
  • Friends who drive out over an hour to spend time with me and take me to lunch.

Last week, I was beyond blessed and encouraged to see your Thankful Thursdays lists. There were 16 amazing stories/ lists- each one was neat to read! Let’s keep it up, shall we? :) What are YOU thankful for this week?

Thanks for stopping by, sweet blog friends. You all are amazing. Truly.

Thankful Thursday: August 30th

It’s been a week since the accident (story here). The days have been filled with pain, soreness, doctors visits, rest, and lots of pizza. For some reason, the near death experience has left me craving pizza every.single. day. I knew it was my favorite food before, but wow, I’ve taken it to new levels.

I couldn’t let a Thursday go by without doing my Thankful Thursday post. Let’s get to it:

  • I’m alive- after last week, I don’t take any day for granted.
  • The amazing people around me. The amount of texts, emails, phone calls, etc…I’m so blessed.
  • That God orchestrated all the small details of the accident (my sister arriving from out of town early, a friend who was nearby to deal with insurance for me, calming people who found me….)
  • A sweet and encouraging note from an anonymous friend. I came into work for a few hours and was greeted with a note and a Starbucks card. ♥
That’s going to wrap up my post. What are YOU thankful for this week? It can be serious, funny (which will do me good- I need a laugh), or completely random. Whatever your list may be, I can’t wait to read it! :)

Thankful Thursday :August 16th

Hello!

Oh my goodness, I am just floored by the sweet comments, emails and tweets about the 10 Minute Craft Dash challenge. Ginny and I were texting back and forth and we are just giddy over the response. We already have some entries (yay!) and we are looking forward to see what YOU create.

If you are new to my blog, each Thursday I post a list of what I’m thankful for. In the crazy busy society we live in, it’s so easy to take things for granted and focus on the difficult things we are going through. However, we have to remember we have SO much to be thankful for. This is the time when I reflect on just a few of the things that stood out to me this week:

  • amazing crafty blog friends- so blessed by their love and support.
  • creativity- it’s such a great stress reliever!
  • social media- I can’t get enough. Seriously wish I could make a living doing just this.
  • air conditioning. It’s been getting warm here in WA and don’t know what I would do without it!
  • fresh fruit- I’ve been snacking on blueberries, strawberries & grapes and love them!
Speaking of blueberries….the bestie, sister and I went blueberry picking on Monday. I haven’t done this in years and boy, it brought back so many childhood memories. I got 13 pounds myself, but at the rate I’m eating them and giving them away, I need to go back and pick some more!
So, what are you thankful for this week? I can’t wait to see your list!
I’ll see you tomorrow. Thanks for stopping by! :)

Thankful Thursday: August 9th

Good morning!

I just got finished looking at my blog calendar- oh my word, I am on a blogging roll. Between the posts I have done this week and what I have planned next week, there will be approximately 10 posts in two weeks. That, my dear blog friends, is quite a feat for me. The more I’ve been blog hopping and exploring Pinterest and tutorials on how to improve my blog, the more I’ve been inspired!

I have my list all ready for this Thankful Thursday, so let’s get right to it.

  • I get to work with Ginny on our new challenge!
  • I’ve been struck with a spark of inspiration- both in life and crafty land
  • Blueberries. They are perfect- I can eat and type at the same time!
  • Sunshine. It puts me in such a happy mood!

That’s my list- what is yours this week? I love hearing what things you all are thankful for.

In closing I have a question:  Do you enjoy these posts? Have they inspired you to think about what you’re thankful for each week?

Thankful Thursday : August 2nd

Hello!

I had planned up typing this post last night when I got home from youth church (where I’m a leader), but then a group of us went out to dinner and I didn’t get home until midnight. To top that off, since I’ve been getting back to the gym, a good part of my body is sore. Such a good and bad feeling!

I have a million things to do today, so let’s jump right into my Thankful Thursday items.

  • fellow youth leaders that serve with me at church
  • the teeny bit of motivation I’ve gotten to get back to the gym
  • I’ve lost enough weight to look semi-cute in skinny jeans and boots (a necessity on overcast, gloomy days like today!)
  • grapes. Yes, the fruit. I’ve been obsessed since I’m trying to eat healthy again.
Last month, it was my birthday and I received an ultra sweet card from one of my blog readers/ customer at work. This person knows me so well- pink, brown, pearls, ribbon,scallops- they are all things I love! Thank you Tina for this beautiful card (and the gift too!).
Here’s the card that she sent….
Details of this card can be found on Tina’s post here
I hope that you all have been having a good week so far. What are YOU thankful for?

Thankful Thursday: July 26th

Hi there!

It’s a brand new Thursday and it’s time for a brand new Thankful Thursday. I have to admit, sometimes I find it hard to come up with “new” things to be thankful for- many things I want to write, I’ve posted before. I AM trying to think outside of what I’ve done in the past, but don’t be surprised if you see some similar things in the next few weeks. :)

  • impromptu outings with friends.
  • my iPhone.
  • technology. Computers, phones, the list goes on and on….
  • allergy medicine. These past few days, something has been getting to me and it’s been a necessity to take meds. Throat closing= not good. Still unsure what exactly is causing this.
  • nail polish. I honestly hate the look of my toes when they aren’t painted.
  • birthday cake milkshakes. Granted, they are far from healthy, but they are out of this world amazing.

Soooo…. since you’re reading this, that means you made it through another week. You know what that means? It’s your turn to say what you’re thankful for!

Can’t wait to see what you are thankful for this week. I’ll see you tomorrow with a crafty post!
