I have had this card for months and months, but kept on putting of scanning it. Well, I guess I’m just on time with posting it! :) However, now that it’s so late, I don’t know who I’m going to give it to! Most likely it’ll just go in my stash to be sold later….This is one of my favorite card layouts. It’s so easy to do, but the card always looks fantastic.
Today I went and saw a movie and had lunch with Ginny. It’s so funny how our everyday talk consists of blogging, certain stamp designers, stamping and card challeneges! Of course we talk about other things too, but crafting comes up quite a bit. It’s so fun, I can’t talk like this with any of my other friends- I would bore them to death!
Well, I’m gonna go blog hop for a little while. Hope you all have a fantastic night, and I’ll catch you tomorrow!
I think I have a new favorite cardstock…..brown kraft from DeNami Design! Granted, I have used this for years, but have never fully appreciated how versatile it really is until now. I LOVE the brown ink on the kraft cardstock- so easy but really looks elegant! Just to forewarn you all: I think you’ll be seeing lots more of this in my future posts!
I wanted to make some easy cards and these are what I came up with. I’m really trying to get my card inventory built up so I can list a bunch of things on Etsy. Hopefully I’ll get a chance to do that in the next week or two. It seems like life has been super busy, and I can’t figure out why! I haven’t taken on any new responsibilities or commitments lately, so I’m a little baffled as to why I don’t have very much “free time” anymore. Are you feeling like this at all? It seems like us Americans are always on the go- I want to start to slow down a little more and enjoy the roses. :)
Well, that’s all for now. I have an Easter card that I want to post…hopefully I’ll get a chance to do that later on today.
Have a great Saturday, and take time to enjoy life!
I feel like I’m in a creative slump…again. I’m starting to feel like all of my cards are looking the same, and I need to start branching out and becoming more adventurous. It seems like all of my cards have either rhinestones, scallops and some sort of stamp from my damask set. These are not bad things, but I guess I’m starting to get tired of my cards looking alike. It’s so hard to stray from my “comfort zone,” but I’m gonna try something soon. Hopefully it will be worth posting!
I originally made this card for my grandma’s birthday, which we celebrated yesterday. I was all ready to fill the card out when I realized I hadn’t scanned it yet. Not wanting to deal with the hassle of scanning but also wanting to get this on the blog, I decided to just give her another card. Lazy? Yes. Hey, it was Sunday, I think I should get some slack. ;-)
This week my sister is on spring break…..makes me wish I had a break from work! Today I’m feeling extremely blah- hopefully it goes away by tomorrow. With my office co-worker on maternity leave (she had her baby TODAY!), I think I’m gonna start to get really lonely at work. I’m hoping soon that it’ll get insanely busy that I won’t have time to get lonely. *crosses fingers*
Well, I’m off to blog hop and then I’m going to bed early.
I love giveaways, and I’m sure you all do too! I also love it when others let you know about a giveaway- share the ♥. I found this giveaway for a Papertrey set, so I thought I’d share the fun. It’s super easy to enter, and if you already have this set, you can just think of your friend Paulina. :-D
I cannot believe how G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S these colors look together! Dawn, you did a fabulous job choosing this weeks challenge– they were SO fun to work with! I’m definitely going to be playing with these colors again…..soon!
This card is pretty simple, and yet it still looks cute and stands out. I knew right away that I wanted to play with my new ink pad since it matched one of this weeks colors. I also knew I wanted to use some of my white pompoms- I just can’t get enough! It’s so funny, my friend Wendy also used pompoms are her card this week. Great minds think alike!. :)
I cannot tell you how happy I am to have been able to create this weekend. I was going through withdrawls- I’m not even kidding! I really think stamping is a stress reliever for me….well, most of the time. Sometimes I get irritated with how they turn out, but for the most part, it helps me relax.
Well, it’s time for bed. Gotta get up early for church! Tomorrow my sisters’ are getting baptized- SO exciting! :)
Where has the time gone? It seems like just yesterday that my baby brother was born. In reality, it has been almost 9 years! I miss the times when he was itty bitty and I could hold him…easily! I miss the times when he couldn’t say things properly and he would say things his own way. Wow…I’m starting to sound old! I honestly cannot believe how fast times flies by. Now my brothers are fairly grown up, and they can do almost everything on their own. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE them being the age that they are now- they crack me up! However, I wish I had treasured the times when they were younger a little bit more.
As mentioned in an earlier post, I went to Tucson for a stamp show. I had such a great time with my “stamping family”. Seriously, these ladies are my honorary grandma’s! :) It was a two day show and I kept fairly busy. Unlike Washington, the weather was HOT! I knew it would be, but I wasn’t expecting THAT hot. It’s so strange that the snow just melted for us, and then in another state they are wearing flipflops and tanks! Even though I love wearing flipflops, I don’t think I could stand to live in hot Arizona. My body is not made for that kind of weather- though I don’t mind visiting every once in a while.
Again, my apologies for not posting sooner. I have been unusually busy these past few weeks…I think things will start to slow down though. I don’t mind being busy, but I also enjoy my time relaxing and stamping. :)
Thanks for stopping by! Oh, in closing, did you notice anything *wrong* with the card? The scallop circle stamp is off centered! I accidentally stamped it like that, but nobody said anything. Well, nobody… but my little brother! He’s like, “uh, the card is nice, but why is this stamp crooked?” I tell ya, my brothers are not your usual boys! :D
The weather has been CRAZY! First it was snowing, then it was sunny, and now it’s snowing again! I don’t understand this weird weather! I cannot wait until Spring- I love seeing flowers bloom, the sun beaming down in all its glory, and also wearing flipflops & sunglasses. I think those are some of my most favorite things ever! You know when it’s sunny and you see that car with the music blasting, the person wearing the big sunglasses with the window down dancing to the music? Yeah, that’s me! :) I know, I’m a dork….I always tell my friends at least I’m a stylish, cute one!
Okay, moving along….I surprised myself and created lots today! I think after my busy week, I need some “me” time. I don’t know who I am going to give any of these cards to, but at least I’ll have them handy for when I need them. What do YOU do with your cards? Do you have a giant stash, like me? Do you sell yours on Etsy? I still haven’t gotten around to opening a Paypal account yet. I know it doesn’t take that long, I have just been feeling a little lazy. I know once I do it, and sell something, I’ll wonder why I didn’t do it a long time ago. I guess I need motivation. Have you been selling a lot? I guess I’m wondering if people really buy on Etsy…..
I know this color combo is different for me, but I actually like it! At the beginning, this card was plain, but then I added the buttons and felt like the card was complete. This card was so fun to make….I actually made five others just like it! I was thinking about posting it on Etsy, and personalizing the initial for the buyer. Do you think that would sell? I need feedback….
Wow, it’s been forever since I have participated in one of Kristina’s challenges. The past few have been really hard for me…I know they are supposed to stretch you, but I just couldn’t make them work. Plus, I wasn’t too motivated to really try since Kristina had taken the round up down due to her busy schedule. (It was my goal to get up there someday. Yes, it may sound sad, but in my mind that would just be an amazing honor. The next thing better than that would being published in a mag!)
When I saw the colors this morning, I got so excited! It’s a good thing I like these colors- I was getting frustrated with how my things were turning out. I made something before this “just a note” card, but it is NOT going up on the blog. In fact, I just wanted to throw it away after I saw the end result. Isn’t it funny how a card can look so great in your head, but when it comes to executing it, it can turn out so bad?!
Like my previous post, I’m using my new PaperTrey papers. I just can’t get enough of these polka dots. In fact, I just ordered some more! I have barely used any of mine, but I know I’m going to! On Saturday I’m planning a stamping day with Ginny- as usual, lots of talking, glitter, food and movies! I’m really excited because she is bringing her acrylic blocks! I’ll finally be able to use my new stamp set! :) Now I’m just hoping my creativity will start to come back before then!
It’s late, and I’m exhausted. Hopefully I’ll be able to get more cards up here soon!
Don’t you just love this color combo? I just got my first PaperTrey order in, and I couldn’t wait to play with all my new papers! I got the cardstock sampler, Bitty Dots paper sampler, buttons, my first clear stamp set, and some other goodies. I was most excited about the buttons and Bitty Dots papers. Aren’t these papers just too cute for words? I already know that I’m going to have to order another pack, and I’m planning on getting some more stamp sets. (Might be a good idea if I get some acrylic blocks first. I can’t even play with my new set yet!)
This card was based off of Lulu’s bonus sketch @ 2 Sketches 4 You. Be sure to check it out!
As much as I love technology, there is nothing that can replace a handmade card. Quite a few of my friends are going through hard times, so I thought I would make some “just because” cards. Even with Facebook, Email, Twitter, etc., there is something about receiving a handwritten note. I have gotten a couple books of postage stamps (before they raise the prices AGAIN!), and am going to make a conscience effort to send more notes this year.
You can probably tell by now, but I LOVE LOVE LOVEthese stamps! At first I didn’t care for the curly dove, but now I just can’t get enough! I think these stamps are my new stand-bys.
Before I forget, be sure to check out my Splitcoast gallery. It’s all the same cards as I post on my blog, but you can see them at a glance. I’ll get some more up soon- still trying to figure out the ins and outs of the site. Do any of you have galleries on SCS? If so, send me the link! I’d love to check out your work!
