Easy Background Strip Card Design
Hi friends, it’s Carly. Do you have a favorite card design that you keep coming back to? One of my favorites is an easy background strip. It works as a mini scene or as a pattern, and it never fails!

I like to start by masking a section of card panel and ink blending the top 1/3ish. A strip of colored cardstock works too if ink blending isn’t your jam.
Then with the masking tape still in place, I like to stamp images in a darker color. For this card with the Sweet Christmas Cookies set, I used Distress Oxide Kitsch Flamingo for the background and Festive Berries for the stamping.
TIP: Distress Oxide inks are meant to be a little bit distressed but you can still get solid coverage with repeated impressions using a stamping tool and also by applying ink to the stamp with a foam blending tool.

After creating the fun background strip, I like to add a stamped, die cut, colored and foam mounted image. And a sentiment! (or a strip of colored cardstock works too). Then I stamp images that create a scene or background. After I add a stamped, die cut and colored image and a sentiment stamp.
Thanks for stopping by!
