Spring Ladybugs
Hello crafty friends, Marine here, I’m thrilled to be back with this bright and colorful card featuring the Lovely Ladybugs enjoying the spring season among beautiful flowers and lush greenery. I had a blast coloring those gorgeous ladybugs for the first time and pairing them with pretty peachy/coral flowers.

I started off by cutting a large Eyelet rectangle panel out of Strathmore bristol smooth cardstock, I masked the scalloped edges off with washi tape and covered the entire panel with saltwater taffy oxide ink. Next I added a bunch of cute ladybugs to my panel using the Layered Ladybugs stencil set along with candied apple and black soot oxide inks. I splattered water on my panel and dried it with a paper towel, I mixed black soot oxide ink with water and added black splatters all over my piece of paper, and I did the same with copic opaque white ink. Next I cut a vellum panel using the second largest Stitched Torn Rectangle die, added white splatters to that panel, and then put both panels aside to dry.

I stamped the images on 110lb Neenah solar white cardstock using memento tuxedo black ink, cut them all using the matching dies, and colored everything using my alcohol markers. The ladybugs are from the Lovely Ladybugs stamp set, the large leaves are from the Simple Thanks stamp set, and the flower clusters, branches and small leaves are from the Hummingbird Floral stamp set. When the coloring was done, I added highlights and details to each image using a white gel pen.
When my panels were dry, I temporarily taped the Stitched Torn Rectangle vellum panel to my Eyelet Rectangle panel using washi tape, and attached all the images to the vellum panel using 1mm and 2mm foam squares. I removed the washi tape, applied liquid glue at the back of my vellum panel, but only behind the images, stuck my vellum panel to the Layered Ladybugs panel, next the ladybug panel to a 5,5 x 4,25 inches peachy panel using 1mm foam tape, and finally the peachy panel to a matching card base using double sided tape.

I white heat embossed “Bugs & Kisses” from the Lovely Ladybugs stamp set on black cardstock, cut it using the matching die, and finally attached it in the middle of my card using foam squares.
And that’s it! Thank you so much for stopping by, and see you next time!
