Sending Spring Smiles

Hello, friends! Brenda here with a spring card featuring several goodies from the newest February release! I’m definitely ready for spring, although we still have snow on the ground here in the midwest!

I began by die-cutting the Chick Holder Dies from yellow, orange and black cardstock. The watering can, flowers, leaves and “hello” sentiment in the Springtime Holder Additions Die Set were cut from aqua, green, pink, purple, yellow and white cardstock. The umbrella was cut from brown cardstock and pink and aqua patterned paper. I added a bit of shading to the die-cuts using Distress Inks and blending brushes to create a bit of dimension and interest.

For the background, I blended Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink through the Raindrops Stencil onto a panel of pale blue cardstock, fading it lighter toward the bottom. The Watercolor Circle Stencil and Mermaid Lagoon ink stenciled on the bottom of the panel create the perfect water puddle for the little chick. The panel was die-cut with the largest Eyelet Rectangles Die, then adhered to a white A2 card base. I die-cut several clouds in the Stitched Clouds Die Set from white cardstock and adhered them to the background with liquid glue.

The sentiment, from the Easter Banner Greetings Stamp Set, was white heat embossed onto light purple cardstock. It was die-cut with a die from the Banner Greetings 3 Die Set, along with another layer from white cardstock. I added a bit of Wilted Violet Distress Ink to the bottom of the banner, then adhered the two banners together, slightly offset. All of the die-cuts were adhered to the background panel. I added Star Dust Stickles to the flowers and “hello” sentiment, then added a dot to the center of the chick’s eyes with a white gel pen and this card was finished.

That does it for me today! Thank you so much for stopping by! I appreciate your time!
Brenda
