Trick or Treat Ghosts

Hello crafty friends! It’s June and today I want to showcase a card I made using some new and older Halloween products.

I can’t believe that after all this time I still hadn’t used the Candy Bucket die set, so now there’s a new Halloween Bucket Additions set it felt like the perfect time to finally make one! I cut my bucket from orange & black cardstock and did some ink blending on the orange pieces. I also added some gel pen detailing on them.

The die from the Halloween Bucket Additions that sparked my interest was the spider web. It’s supposed to go on the bottom of the bucket, but with some modification I got it to work on the top instead. I felt like that worked better with the background I had in mind, which is the Spider Web Cover Plate.

I got a bit nitpicky again and filled my bucket with carefully selected shaker bits from various sets:

-Candies and black stars from the Boo To You Clay Confetti
Boo To You Shaker Beads
-Ghosts and white stars from the Halloween Friends Clay Confetti

Instead of adding candy in my bucket, I added some Stitched Ghosts. They match the ghost shaker bits perfectly, so I wanted to play into the matching even more by cutting out some black stars and scattering them around my card. There are a lot of sets that have little confetti pieces like this, but I think I used the ones from Big Birthday Cupcake and Birthday Candles.

I wanted a nice, big sentiment on my card, so I thought the Trick or Treat Shadow dies would be perfect for that. I cut the text from dark purple cardstock (again, matching the shaker bits!) and the shadows from vellum. This helps it stand out against the background without being too overwhelming.

Seeing that the card was already becoming very detailed, I decided to keep the background neutral. I used a cream colored piece of cardstock and used Tea Dye Distress Oxide to darken the edges. I also splattered it across my panel.

And that’s the finished card! This was such a fun one to make! I hope to see you back again soon!
