Batty Halloween Pumpkins
Hi friends! It’s Christina, sharing another fun Halloween shaker card featuring some of the fabulous new things from the latest release. This time I used the super cute Pumpkin Cover Plate to create individual pumpkin shakers and the Scattered Bats Stencil with Black Texture Paste on white cardstock for a bold background with lots of contrast. Follow along as I walk you through the steps to create this easy Halloween shaker card!
First, I die cut the Pumpkin Cover Plate from white cardstock and then stenciled it with the Scattered Bats Stencil using Black Texture Paste. I’ll be using just the plate piece and not the cute, detailed pumpkins from this die cut so I saved them for another project!
While the Texture Paste dried, I heat embossed some sentiments from the Upright Greetings: Halloween Stamp Set with white embossing powder on black cardstock and die cut them with the Sentiment Strips Dies.
After the Texture Paste dried, I attached a piece of acetate, cut to size, to the reverse side of the stenciled panel to create the shaker windows for the card front. Then, I die cut the Pumpkin Cover Plate again, but this time from orange cardstock. I used the die cut as a template to secure the orange pumpkins to a piece of black cardstock trimmed to 4 ¼” x 5 ½” and then saved the orange plate piece for another project too!
With the pumpkins in place on the black cardstock panel, I applied thin foam strips all around the pumpkins, creating wells for the Classic Halloween Shaker Beads. Then, I placed foam tape across the rest of the black cardstock panel before attaching the stenciled panel card front. I used the corner of my Misti to help with the alignment of the card front and the card base.
To finish things up, I attached the Upright Greetings with foam squares, and as a last minute detail, I added a pumpkin face from the Halloween Mug Addition Dies to one of the pumpkins.
