Dad Box Card

Hi, friends! It’s Lauren and it’s time for another box card! This time, we’re going geometric with adorable cats for Father’s Day. I started hot foiling the first part of my sentiment using the Hot Foil Large Dad Plate in a blue foil and used the Dad Shadow Die to cut it out. I also cut out two additional dies in white cardstock and glued all three layers together.

I also cut the box card base from the Scallop Box Card Dies out of blue cardstock and I will cut out the scallop pieces after creating my own pattern paper. I stamped the medium sized hexagons from the Decorative Hexagons stamp set in a repeating pattern with different blue and teal colored inks. I then cut out each of the scallop pieces I needed from the Scallop Box Card Dies.

The new Baby Animals stamp set has adorable little critters with a bigger critter which will make an adorable Father’s Day card. My kiddo is really into cats right now, so I thought using the cats nestled together from the set would be perfect! I colored in my image with Ohuhu Art Markers and used the Baby Animals coordinating dies to cut it out.

For the rest of my sentiment, I cut Sentiment Strips Dies out of blue glitter, teal and white cardstock and stamped “it’s your special day” from Sentiment Strips: Birthday stamp set in blue ink. I layered all of the strips together to partner with my “Dad” hot foil sentiment. I assembled the box together and added all of my scallop pieces on the box card and popped up my sentiment pieces to my card base.

I added my cats to the center of the box card, but I did cut a second cat to adhere to the back of the cat when I glued it to the box card to give it more stability. I hope you like my take on a Father’s Day box card and I kept it a little more clean and simple this month.
