Apple Thank You Cards
Hi friends! It’s Zsofi here today and I am sharing a simple but stunning teacher appreciation card idea with some older favorites. I love when a design can work in various colours and this one would look stunning in yellow and green too!
First I used the Layered Apples stencil on Bristol Smooth cardstock with Distress Oxide inks. For the first layer I used Candied Apple for the red and Seedless Preserves for the purple. I made sure to fade out the colours towards the right lower corner simply by using less ink and a lighter hand. I find blending brushes easier to use for this technique.
For the leaves (Layer B) I used Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron Distress Oxide inks and for the stems (Layer C) I chose Ground Espresso. I love these layering stencils, they make multiple coloured designs so easy!
To step up the cards, I put the first layer back in its place and sprayed the apples with a clear shimmer mist for a subtle sparkle. I also added some diluted ink splatters and some white and black acrylic paint splatters too. It adds so much to the design!
When the panels were dry, I trimmed them down a little and gave them a slightly bigger mat in coordinating cardstock colour.
For the sentiment I chose the Everyday Greetings stamp set. I love that pretty handwritten font, and the size is perfect for this design. I stamped it directly on the stenciled background with Versafine Onyx Black ink and heat set it with my heat gun. I also added an extra sentiment under it which I stamped on thin strips of coloured cardstock using the Simple Sentiments stamp set. I mounted these with 3D foam squares for added dimension.
As a finishing touch I adhered a few Lime Shimmer Confetti all around the card, it matches the leaves perfectly.
I hope you liked my card and got inspired to make a couple of stenciled cards like this. I will need to make more for my kids’ teachers this year!
Thank you for stopping by and see you soon, Zsofi
So creative! And using my all time favorite thank you stamp 😍
