Holiday Theme Week- Day 4

Hi, everyone!It’s Marge with you today for the day 4 of Holiday Theme Week.  I’m going to share how to make a simple card with unusual colors. I used to use white bristol paper for  ink blending of backdrops or diecuts but recently I found that using light colored cardstocks make your ink colors more unique. So here’s how I did that.

For the background panel, I ink blended an A2 sized Cream cardstock with Distress Oxide Inks Worn Lipstic, and Tattered Rose using a blending brush.You can get more shaded & saturated colors without giving much effort to ink blending by using the colored cardstock as a backdrop. 

Next, I placed Snowfall Stencil onto the panel, then I applied white molding paste through it to make a snowy background. I set it aside and let the paste dry. 

Next, I die cut the smallest tree from Pine Trees Dies set out of Fog Gray Cardstock. I cut three pieces and added different colors to each diecut as shown in the picture below. 

I splattered with white gouach and gold metallic inks all over the tree die cuts and backdrops and let them dry. For a message on the card, I chose Merry and Bright Script Die and die cut it out of white,  white glitter, and matte gold cardstocks. I glued each layer for dimensional look 

Now it’s time for assembling. I addhered trees on the bottom using foam tapes and on the top I glued the Merry and Bright Script. For embellishment, I adhered 3mm Sparkling Clear Sequins around the diecuts and finished off my card.
