Quick and Easy Rainbow Butterflies + Video
Hello crafty friends! It’s Mindy here with you today to share a bright and colorful project featuring the Layered Butterflies stencil.

For the first layer of the butterflies, I will be ink blending using regular distress inks in Picked Raspberry, Dried Marigold, Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron, Salvaged Patina, and Wilted Violet. I forget how vibrant and beautiful the regular distress inks are!
For the second layer, which adds detail to the wings, I went over the same areas with the same colors. Looking back, I wish I would have gone over it with a darker color because as the ink dried, it faded back a lot and the details didn’t show up as well.
The third layer of the stencil adds the body of the butterfly in which I used a dark grey dye ink from my stash.
I needed to break up the background a little so I added small strips of cardstock in colors that matched my background.
I finished the card off with a sentiment from Easter Signs stamp set heat embossed in white onto black cardstock.
Although I turned this into a Spring card, I think it would make a great encouragement or birthday card because of its vibrancy.
Hope you enjoyed today’s project and it brightened your day!
