Technique: Script Dies As Backgrounds
Good morning! It’s Lindsey here today with a cheerful Easter card. There are so many cute stamp sets from the latest release, and I was eager to use them on a card. I pulled out an older Easter set as well, and they work perfectly together.
I started by covering my entire card base with the Hoppy Easter Script Dies. Next I stamped lots and lots of images from Easter Signs, Easter Wreath, and Easter Bunnies and used Tombow ABT Pro markers (plus a few random markers in my stash) to do some basic coloring. I always find it helpful to stamp and color more than you think you’ll need. It makes it easier to make arrangements, takes away the stress if your coloring goes awry on a few, and gives you a head start on another card if you have some leftovers.
Because all the images blend so seamlessly together, I’ll give you a little breakdown of what I ended up using: Easter Signs Stamp Set (bunny, butterflies, sentiment) Easter Wreath Stamp Set (chick, egg, flowers) Easter Bunnies Stamp Set (carrot basket, carrots, flowers).
After all the images were colored, I cut them with the coordinating dies. Then I arranged a little scene, keeping the “rule of 3” in the back of my mind as I determined color placement. I used varying thicknesses in dimensional foam, so there would be a lot of dimension on the card.
Though simple in design, this card is packed with cuteness thanks to these darling new stamps and dies. They are the perfect combination for easy, enjoyable crafting!
I hope you were inspired to try this technique! Thanks for stopping by!
Where can I find the embossing hoppy on the background card?
