Easter Theme Week- Day 3

Pretty Pink Posh: Easter Theme Week- Day 3

Hello Crafty Friends! Elaine here today on Day 3 of Pretty Pink Posh Easter theme week!  For my card I have used the Easter Friends stamp and die set to create a fun and card that I am sure anyone would love to receive.  I’ve also added some other stamps from Holiday Pals (bunny bow) and Mom (butterflies).

Pretty Pink Posh: Easter Theme Week- Day 3

I started this card by stamping the images on to copic friendly card with a copic friendly black ink.  I coloured the images with the following copic markers (many are repeated on the card):

Pink: R85, R83, R81

Blue: B24, B23, B21

Yellow: Y15, Y13, Y11

Bunny: E27, E25, E23, E21

Boy Hair: E49, E27, E25

Girl Hair: E77, E74, E71

Girl Bunny Ears: E74, E71, E70, R22, R20

Skin: E13, E11, E00, R22, R20

After the images were all coloured, I cut them out with the co-ordinating dies and then set them aside so I could work on the base/background of the card.

I created a white A2 card base by cutting a piece of white heavyweight card 8.5” x 4.25” and then scored and folded at 5.5” along the longest side. For the background panel I cut some more heavyweight white card to 5.5” x 3 7/8” and then used the Stitched Borders 1 to create a scalloped edge on the top and bottom.

Using Distress Inks in Stormy Sky and Peeled Paint I gently blended on colour at the top and bottom of the panel to help give my characters a scene to ground them on.  For extra interest I used the same ink colours and added some paint splatters.  To do this I ‘smooshed’ the ink pads on to my glass mat, added a drop of water and used a small paint brush to flick on the colour.  The panel was left to dry for 10-15 minutes.

Using liquid adhesive, I secured all my characters to the ink blended panel and then popped on lots of coloured easter eggs to finish off the scene.

Before securing the panel to the card base, I stamped the sentiment with a black pigment ink.  On the back of the panel, I glued a rectangle of fun foam and then secured it to the card base.  I love the dimension the fun foam gives the panel.  I adhered the butterflies along with some pearl jewels.

Thank you so much for joining me today. Be sure to pop back to the blog tomorrow for Day 4 of inspiration!

Hugs, Elaine xx
