Spring Birdhouse

Hi again, friends! Christina here, and I’m so excited to share with you this cute woodland scene featuring the Decorative Birdhouses Dies and the Stitched Birds Dies. I nestled the birdhouse in plenty of green leaves on a Pierced Leafy Vines background to create a treetop getaway for a pair of the sweetest little birds. Take a quick peek at my supplies and then we’ll get started.

I started with a kraft cardstock panel and die-cut it with the Pierced Leafy Vines Plate. I added some shading to the edges of the panel with a darker ink color and set it aside while I worked on die-cutting the other elements of my card.

For die-cutting, I started with colored cardstock for most of the elements and added subtle shading to the birdhouse and the birds before assembling the pieces. For the leaves, I chose to use an alcohol ink marker to add some detail and shading. I used plain white cardstock with no shading to trim the birdhouse, for the bellies of the birds, for the small flowers, and for the “hello” greeting.

With all the elements completed, I put everything together on my background panel. I used a combination of glue and foam squares to secure the die-cuts, starting with the birdhouse and then layering on the leaves and the flowers. I placed the birds flying into the scene and finished with a few decorative details: the yellow butterfly fluttering by and the red heart above the birdhouse entrance. Lastly, I attached the greeting and put everything onto a side-fold card base.

Thank you so much for popping in to see this cute woodland scene I created using the Decorative Birdhouses and the Stitched Birds Dies. See you again soon!
