Halloween Theme Week: Day 4

Hello crafty friends! Davina here to share a “not so spooky” Halloween card with everyone. I always love shopping my stash, and combining my existing collection of goodies, with new products, to make something fun. I feel like I’ve done just that with this sweet ghost shaker and a shaker jar full of candies!

**All items in the Halloween Section are 15% off during theme week!

I stamped the beautiful jar from the new Fall Jar set using colored ink. Next, I carefully removed the center of the jar by fussy cutting, before using the coordinating die to cut out the complete jar image. I used 1/8 inch scor tape on the backside of the stamped image, to adhere some black mesh tulle. Once in place, I carefully trimmed away the excess mesh and added a second layer of scor tape. I die cut a second jar and arranged some ink blended candies from the Candy Treats die set, and generous amount of little star glitter. I removed the score tape backing and applied the shaker top over the shaker bits and bottom piece. I love making these mesh shakers because they still have movement, but are flatter and easy to mail.

Next, I stamped images from Halloween Cupcakes, Halloween Signs, Halloween Friends, and the sentiment from Ghost Friends. I colored everything with Copic markers and added small white highlights. I die cut the adorable Ghost Shaker and gently inked the edges and gave her some rosy pink cheeks.

Using some Bristle Smooth card stock, I inked the top half of the panel with Shaded Lilac Distress Oxide Ink, then just the very top with Black Soot. I splattered some black and glittery ink onto the panel before applying Glitter Paste with the Starry Background Stencil. Once dry, I centered the embossed layer onto a striped background panel and arranged my images into the scene using a variety of glues and foam tape.

I really love how spooky cute this turned out using many of my beloved Pretty Pink Posh products, and I hope I have inspired you to dig into your own stamp collection and mix it up! Thank you for stopping by,

Davina

  1. A really cute card… I like all the colors and the ‘netting on the jar is a fun addition. All the elements come together to make a fun and festive, but not spooky or creepy, Halloween card. Any recipient would be so excited. Thank you for sharing your creativity.
