Halloween Theme Week- Day 6
Good morning and welcome back to Halloween Theme Week! It’s Lindsey here. Today I’m using the fabulous Spooky Sky Stencil three ways with a fun, but non-traditional color scheme. Let’s get started!
As an added bonus this week, everything in the Halloween Section will be an additional 15% off.
I think stencils give you so much bang for your buck, so I wanted to show you a variety of ways to use them. First, I used the Spooky Sky Stencils with some simple ink blending to add bats to my card base. Next, I scraped Nuvo glimmer paste through the star layer. It adds the most wonderful sparkle and dimension! (Just make sure you have a wet wipe handy to quickly wipe off the extra on the stencil before it dries.) I knew it would take a bit of time for the paste to dry on my card, so I pulled out my third stencil. It may look like I blended ink with this one, but I did not. I used the stencil in a very old school way – I traced the clouds onto vellum using the stencil and then fussy cut them out with scissors. It brought back happy memories of creating with my mom when I was a child, but it was also another great way to use a stencil and allowed me to perfectly place the clouds to surround my sentiment.
Since my sky was so soft and neutral, I wanted a colorful sentiment. I swayed from traditional rich, fall colors, though, and went with pastels. I die cut the Happy Halloween Script die three times in white, orange, and pink, and adhered each layer slightly offset to create a colorful shadow.
I finished off my card with the Spooky Fence die, layering a couple die cuts to add dimension.
Thanks so much for joining me today! Make sure to come back tomorrow for the final day of inspiration and don’t forget to stock up on all your favorite Halloween goodies this week while they are on sale 15% off.
