Birthday Fish

Hi-ya, blog friends!
Well, today is my dad’s birthday- he has ONE year left before the big 5-0! For each birthday/ anniversary/ Father’s Day, I feel like I have to come up with a spectacular card. This year, I just didn’t have the energy to come up with something elaborate, like I usually do, so I thought I’d go with funny and simple. :)
Let’s go dive (in the sea) shall we….
When I do cards for my dad, I usually like to put seven of some element, since there are seven people in our family. This time, I went with the super cute fish from the Sea Friends stamp set. I just love these little guys!
Here’s a closer look at the fish. Yup, I colored each one to fit each person’s favorite colors (except my dad….a black fish wouldn’t look good!). The “bubbles” are from the Under the Sea stamp set, along with the seaweed and treasure chest.
I hope this card brought a smile to your face- I definitely was grinning when I was making it! Let’s hope my dad likes this card….if he does, he’ll most likely have it near the register at some upcoming stamp shows. :)
Have a good one!

  1. Really? His favorite color is black? Poor guy is surrounded by all of those beautiful colors all day and his favorite is black…. cracks me up!!
Next year I’m going to remember and make him an all black card for the big 50! I love how you incorporate 7, those fishies worked perfectly.

  2. That’s such a great card – I’m sure he’ll love it. That’s so fun how you use seven elements to represent your family.

I help set up & worked in the booth in Akron last year & I had a lot of fun with them. Your little brothers are too cute!

  3. This turned out really cute, Paulina! I LOVE how you stamped 7 fish to represent the 7 people in your family—makes the card all the more special! I bet your dad LOVED it!!!
