Sweet Bear Friend

Hello Crafty Friends! Catherine here, and today I’m sharing a sweet friendship card featuring the Bear HolderBee AdditionsCheckered Pierced PlateEyelet Hexagons, and the Honeycomb Stencil. With a honey-loving bear, buzzing bees, and sweet honey-themed accents, this cheerful design is perfect for sending a sweet greeting to a special friend!

To begin, I created a soft honeycomb background by ink blending Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide Ink through the Honeycomb Stencil onto a panel of A2 white cardstock.

Next, I die cut a pierced front panel from white cardstock with the Checkered Pierced Plate. Using the largest die from the Eyelet Hexagons, I created a hexagon window by trimming away the center with a craft knife. I then adhered the eyelet frame around the window opening, securing it with light adhesive along the edges.

For the focal image, I die cut the adorable bear from the Bear Holder Dies, along with the coordinating eyes, nose, ears, and snout from white cardstock. The bear and snout were ink blended with Gathered Twigs and Antique Linen Distress Oxide Inks, while Black Soot was used for the eyes, nose, and ears. I added soft rosy cheeks using Kitsch Flamingo.

I stamped and die cut the remaining images with the coordinating dies and colored them with Copic Markers listed below. I adhered the bear to the honeycomb background and layered the hexagon window on top. I arranged the bees around the frame and tucked the honeypot and honey dipper into the bears arms.

Copic Markers:

  • Honey Pot- BG11, BG10, BG000, C1, C0
  • Honey- YR23, Y13, Y11
  • Honey Dipper- E33, E31, E30
  • Bee- Y15, Y13, Y00, R20, C5, C3, C1, C0, BG01, BG000

To complete the card, I added the sentiment with “You’re A Sweet” white heat embossed on black cardstock, paired with a stamped “Friend” from the Hello Friend set, and finished with a black enamel dot on the bottom.

Thanks so much for joining me today! I hope this card inspires you to create something sweet! Happy crafting!
