Easter Bell Tags

Hello crafty friends, it’s June! Today I have some fun Easter shaker tags to share with you. Why bells you ask? Well, read more to find out.

While sketching some ideas for my project, I asked myself why I barely see any bells for Easter cards because they’re very obviously associated with Easter, or so I thought. After a quick Google search I found out that it’s actually a very regional thing from Belgium, The Netherlands and France and outside of these countries, the bell tradition isn’t known. So that answered my question immediately!

So where I live, it’s said that Easter bells drop chocolate eggs in the garden instead of the Easter bunny dropping them off. In my head, that seemed like a great idea for some tags even though it’s not a very widely spread tradition. So, now you know the origin of my idea, let’s get started on the tags!

I picked a color palette of pink, sage and yellow along with a hint of blue and some green accents for the leaves. I cut out a Christmas Bell Shaker from each of my main colors and filled them with shaker bits from the Springtime Bunny Clay Confetti and the Spring Breeze Shaker Beads.

I cut a variety of flowers from the Spring Foliage die set in the same color palette. Sometimes I used a lighter shade of my colors to make them contrast better against eachother. I used Copic Markers to add some depth to them. The clusters I ended up with always consist of the 2 other colors and a small blue flower, that way the colors are distributed nicely between the different tags.

Of course, the bells needs to be able to fly, so that’s where the wings from the Stitched Hummingbirds come in. I cut them from pearlescent cardstock to make them look more magical. It’s not very visible on my photos, but the cardstock has a nice green-pink sheen to it that matches the palette perfectly.

To finish off my tags, I added the same sentiment from Easter Greetings to all tags, just in a different color.

I hope that this inspires you to think of new ways to use (seasonal) products to make them work for whatever occasion you need a card or tag for! Even if I didn’t add the Easter shaker bits and the sentiment, it would still look like a seasonal project, or at least here in Belgium it does.

Have fun stretching your supplies, and I hope to see you again soon, bye!
