September Ramblings

  • I greatly despise gardening. All the weeding, watering and harvesting makes have a garden not attractive. I would much rather spend a little extra money and buy items at the store.
  • This year I am truly addicted to Toffee Mochas. They have just enough coffee to wake me up in the morning, plus it tastes delicious!
  • At one point in time, I was considering becoming a vegetarian. Then…. I realized how much meat I really eat and decided it was ridiculous to even think I could do it.
  • I had never created Halloween cards before this year. Not into scary things, but the new Halloween DeNami Design images pushed me over the edge.
  • I’ve temporarily given up on submitting to magazines. I hate being disappointed.
  • Rarely do I ever take my make-up off at night. It’s such a bad habit, but I’m usually too lazy and tired to do anything about it.
  • I admire people who can sew on their cards. I *tried* for the first time recently and my card ripped. Not going to attempt this anytime again soon…..
  • Excited to go shopping for Fall and Winter clothes. Anyone have suggestions on where to buy cute boots that aren’t too terribly expensive?
I hope you all have a fabulous Saturday! Thanks for stopping by and leaving me some love! If you happen to do a ramblings post, be sure to let me know ! I’d love to stop by your blog and get to know you better!

  1. Love your blog and the “rambling” posts! :) I hate any kind of yard work, so you can imagine what a site my house is (YIKES) I never take my make up off either – keep trying to get better about it! Still trying to learn sewing on cards.

My suggestion for decent priced shoes and Boots is DSW. You might also check out Shoe Carnival if you have one nearby. I have never been to SC but have heard good tings. DSW also has a free “club” you can sign up for and they send great coupons and if you shop there you earn points for reward certificates. It’s awesome!

    Happy Saturday! :)

  2. Love your ramblings Paulina! They make my day…It makes me feel like I know you a little bit more everytime. Have a good one friend!

  3. Hey girl…. I don’t like gardening either, but I do it because I love the look of flowers in my beds…. I used to not take my make up off until my mom developed some virus in her eyes from not removing eye make up… So I started doing that because I do not want to go thru the pain she is going thru now….. And I, too, stopped submitting to magazines. I got spoiled getting that one card picked up and tried my hardest ever since then only to be disappointed….. As far as good shoes, do you have Rack Room shoes? I found some cute, inexpensive boots there, 9 west brand. I also have bought quite a few boots on ebay. Just find the brand boot you want and do an ebay search. I have been very lucky!!!

  4. I am not a big fan of gardening either however we totally re-landscaped our backyard very tropical, and it’s a lot of up keep, but beautiful! Weeding is a pain! Hire a landscaper! ha!

Submitting is something that makes me cringe because I see beautiful work get rejected and the same people all the time and sometimes I see the rejected work better than some of those picked up. It’s all in what they are looking for at the time and you have to remember it’s all objective and we may not share THEIR objective opinion! :-) Keep smiling! Your work is beautiful!

9 West usually has cute boots, but living in Hawaii it’s been forever since I have got to go boot shopping! :-)

  5. It’s good to support growers by buying your vegies and flowers at the store. For a yr I committed to a vegetarian diet. I gotta have a tender, juicy, grilled chicken breast once in a while, but I tried! I too see so many of the same crafters published over and over again. It gets old! I say ‘Make way for newcomers or we won’t know what we’re missing!’ I also agree that many of the “rejections” seem overall better than those that are published. Go figure! Just consider this a break and set a date to start submitting again. If you lose your dream, it can’t come true! :) G

  6. I love your “ramblings” posts, Paulina! It’s always so much fun learning more about you! I want to encourage you to keep submitting your work to magazines!!! If you feel like you need a break from it, I totally understand, but don’t give up completely! Dr. Seuss was rejected by 29 publishers before his first book was published—-and look how successful he became!!! Your work is AMAZING and stampers everywhere need to see it!!! Keep doing what you’re doing, girl! You’re extremely talented!!

  7. Love your ramblings! It makes me knowing you more and I like it :) It’s ok to take a break but don’t completely give up on submitting your work. You are a great designer!
